Aspirus Langlade Hospital announces new chief medical officer
Dr. Bessant Parker recently joined the Aspirus Langlade Hospital senior leadership team and will serve as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Parker is responsible for working with staff and providers to continuously improve the quality and experience of care for our patients. Dr. Parker replaces Dr. Renee Smith who served as a part-time CMO prior to a promotion to the Chief Medical Officer for Aspirus Networks.
Dr. Parker completed his medical training in Ghana before coming to the United States where he did his residency in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital, an affiliate of Columbia University in New York. Upon completion of his residency he served as a hospitalist at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. He went on to complete a full-time Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business while maintaining part-time employment at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Most recently Dr. Parker has been training with Tenet Healthcare in the Tenet Executive Development Program at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. He served on the Executive Management Team where he was involved in leading quality improvement and process improvement efforts.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Parker enjoys motivational speaking, traveling and soccer.
