Information assisted by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Collin Lueck, editor of the Merrill Foto News.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Antigo Police Department with a high speed pursuit after the officer was shot at during a traffic stop in the City of Antigo.  The chase went into Lincoln County and the suspect vehicle was eventually stopped on Hillview Rd in the Township of Pine River with the use of a tire deflation device.  The suspect remained armed during an hour stand off and was eventually shot and killed by law enforcement.

The incident reportedly started near the Antigo Hotel, where Antigo law enforcement currently is combing the area during its investigation. Police were unable to report any other information but indicated that a press release from Chief of Police Eric Roller would be made available before noon. Included is a photo gallery of the scene near the Antigo Hotel:

More details on the case will be released at a later time.
