Junior A County League baseball recap of the week

The Antigo Dugout Club’s White team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday, July 6, falling 3-0 to Held’s Bar of the Langlade County “A” League. The loss puts the ADC White club at a yet-impressive 7-1 record for the season.
Alex Fritsch lasted five innings, allowing four hits and zero earned runs. Fritsch also struck out eight Held’s batters. Nevin Cornelius, in his one inning of work, struck out two while not allowing any hits or runs.
Cornelius also finished 1 for 3 at the plate with a double, whereas Brett Farmer was 1-1 with a double as well. Sam Huess finished up 1 for 1.
While stats were unavailable for Held’s, Eli Fleischman and Nick Marshall represented the pitching staff in the triumph over the previously unbeaten.
Wednesday, June 29
The ADC White team reached 7-0 the previous week behind a 6-3 win over Wittenberg. Holding Wittenberg to just one hit on the game in Cornelius’s one inning on the mound, Fritsch pitched six innings with a stunning 14 strikeouts.
Brett Witman was 2-2 for the White club, including a triple, while Cornelius went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles. Logan Thomae accounted for the team’s fifth and final hit.
