Taylor Buuck and Brittany Jensen recognized nationally by Elite Medical Scribes

Bloomington, Minnesota – Elite Medical Scribes is proud to announce two recipients of its Dr. Ed Memorial Scholarship – Taylor Buuck and Brittany Jensen. Both have served as medical scribes for two and three years, respectively, and will continue their medical educations this fall.

The Dr. Edward Wegrzynowicz Memorial Scholarship was created to celebrate and pay respect to the more than 30 years of dedicated service he gave to the medical profession. This scholarship supports the education of medical professionals who demonstrate a similar character and disposition to Dr. Wegrzynowicz and completed at least one year of work with Elite Medical Scribes.

Hailing from Antigo, Wisconsin, Brittany is a graduate of University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a B.S. in Kinesiology. She worked as Chief Medical Scribe in the emergency department at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire for more than three years, logging more than 4,000 hours of physician observation and medical note documentation. Brittany also led the implementation of scribe programs at the Wisconsin Brain and Spine Center and Chippewa Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. She will pursue her M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies at Rush University in Chicago.

“I cannot express in words the amount of gratification that I receive from helping others, and I have now found the drive and the desire to pursue a career that up until five years ago, I had never thought of pursuing,” said Brittany Jensen. “I have to thank Elite Medical Scribes and the Wisconsin health care providers I worked with for stoking those flames.”

A Hillsboro, Oregon-native, Taylor graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. Most recently, Taylor spent two years as a Chief Scribe at Wheaton Franciscan Family Practice in Sussex, Wisconsin, gaining invaluable experience in family medicine. As a scribe, Taylor gained firsthand understanding of a physician’s daily tasks, and feels he has a bunch better understanding of the profession he will soon join after completing his degree at Oregon Health & Science University.

“With a daily schedule of often forty patients, the physicians I support fight to maintain a balance between providing high quality medical care with keeping a strict time schedule,” said Taylor. “This balance requires preparation, patience, and, above all, a heartfelt dedication to those we serve. I feel honored to support physicians in this critical work.”

Medical scribes work directly with physicians and are primarily responsible for recording medical notes from patient visits. Scribes improve efficiency of practices and allow physicians to focus solely on patient care.
