Antigo Amateur Talent Night Auditions August 16th & 17th 4:30pm Antigo High School, Volm Theater, 1900 10th Avenue, Antigo. Sign up begins at 4:30pm in the high school commons. Auditions begin at 5pm and end promptly at 6:30pm. This is first come-first served. Due to time constraints, there will be no bands. Act must be 4 minutes or less. Tuesday Night Running Club August 16th 5:15-6pm Aspirus Hospital, 112 East Fifth Ave., Antigo. Tuesday Run Club will be meeting every Tuesday at Health & Performance Center (Aspirus Hospital) at 5:15pm for a run. The running club is intended to be an opportunity to run with others. It is not a competitive event – just an opportunity to meet people that like to do the same thing as you – Get Outside & Run! We will run 3-4 miles. 2016 Great Northern Trail Ride Spirit Mountain Challenge August 18th-20th Mole Lake Lodge & Conference Center, 3084 State Highway 55, Mole Lake. It’s a full 2 days of guided trail rides in the great Northwoods. Any off highway vehicle with a 4-LO transfer case from showroom stock to highly modified can participate. Experienced WOHVA trail guides will lead your trail vehicle through “Mild to Wild” off road trails and challenges for the novice as well as experienced driver. Your registration fee includes a full lunch & dinner Friday & Saturday of the event. There will also be a prize giveaway on Saturday after the dinner. Clean Sweep August 20th 8-11am Langlade County Highway Shop, 1521 Arctic St., Antigo. A hazardous waste clean sweep & medication disposal. The household and agricultural clean sweep & the medication disposal are free. Agricultural producers are also required to pre-register by calling 715-627-6292 & giving the volume & name of the chemicals that will be brought in. If you only have household hazardous waste or medications (including veterinarian medications) to dispose of, pre-registration is not required. A medication drop box is also available 24/7 in the lobby of the Langlade County Safety Building. Keep medication in their original container with your personal information blocked out. Do not block out the name of the medication. Non-agricultural small business disposal is available for a fee & these small businesses need to pre-register by calling 715-627-6292. Latex paints, motor oil or electronic waste will not be accepted. Fluorescent bulbs & lithium batteries will be accepted for a small fee. As always, do not mix materials together. Leave the chemicals in their original containers. If the container is damaged, place the container & its contents into a cardboard box lined with a plastic bag. 4th Annual Run to Remember August 20th 8am Nicolet College, College Dr., Rhinelander. It is a run to raise money for scholarships in honor of Kory Dahlvig, a Nicolet graduate & former Vilas County sheriff’s deputy who lost his life in an on-duty traffic accident. The 5K & 10K will start on the Nicolet College campus. Check-in begins at 8am, the 10K Run starts at 9am, the 5K Run/Walk starts at 9:15 am, and the Children’s Run starts at 10:30 am.
