Patrecia “Patti” Suzanne Hickey, of Post Lake, died Monday, August 01, 2016 at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 73 years old.

She was born April 12, 1943 in Antigo, daughter of the late Kenneth and Nelda (Sparks) McNeil. She married Mike Hickey on November 9, 1963 in Antigo, and he survives.

Patti graduated from Antigo High School in 1961. She then attended Patricia Stevens School of Beauty Culture in Milwaukee. She worked hard throughout her life, and was employed from a young age at the Easy Way Supervalu, the family business. She later was a waitress at Tesch’s Supper Club, owned and operated Patti’s Wigwam beauty shop, worked at the Antigo Headstart, co-owned and operated Hickey Floral, worked at Schroeder’s Gift Shop, and managed the Elcho School District hot lunch program.

She raised her family in Antigo, and they have many great memories that were made at the home on South Virginia Street. After retirement, Patti and Mike moved to Post Lake, where the family memories continued with many weekend visits. She especially loved hosting “Happy Hour at Patti’s house”, and taking boat rides to the sandbar where she would watch the children play. She loved listening to Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand music, bowling with the women’s Wednesday night league, laughing, and sleeping. Patti showed her will to live and inspired her friends and family by recovering from a serious car accident. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with her grandkids.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include 2 children, Michael J. (Hillary Delarme) Hickey IV of Antigo, and Janelle (Brian) Bolder of Antigo; 4 grandchildren, Alexandria (Trent Walters) Hickey, Michael J. Hickey V, Myah Bolder, and Max Bolder, all of Antigo; 3 sisters, Judy Seplocha of Antigo, Peggy (David) Voigt of Glendale, AZ, and Kathy (Mike) Augustyn of Antigo; a brother, Ronald “Bucky” McNeil of Avondale, AZ; 3 sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hickey of Antigo, Mary (Mike) Cherf of Wausau, and Nancy (Butch) Markgraf of Post Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Donney McNeil; her mother and father in law, Helen (Coblentz) and Michael J. Hickey, Sr.; nieces; and a nephew.

A celebration of life gathering for friends and family, “Patti’s Happy Hour,” will take place at the Antigo Elks Club on Friday, August 5th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
