Wisconsinites helping Red Cross in Louisiana, California

Red Cross workers load a truck with relief supplies for distribution in neighborhoods affected by historic flooding in southern Louisiana.

For the Antigo Times

The American Red Cross – The Wisconsin region is proud to already have 45 disaster responders serving in Louisiana (40) and in the Blue Cut Fire (5) in California.   We anticipate more trained responders will be departing over the weekend and throughout the next month. The flooding in the south may become worse this weekend with more rain in the forecast and no place for it to go once it falls.  While containment on the wildfires is growing, so is the acreage burnt and the number of homes destroyed.

While all 50-states have sent responders, Wisconsin is in the Top 10!  Below are a few photos of what they are seeing along with a testimonial video. The national news release is on the PRNewswire and you have permission to use any and all of the pieces.

If you are interested in phone or live interviews this weekend, please give me a call at 920-642-0404 to arrange details.  Chapter Executives may also have flexibility to go in-studio (if applicable)

A very powerful message from a woman who suffered tremendous loss as a result of the flooding video:
