For the Antigo Times

The AHS Marching Band Competed at the Waukesha North Bandfest on Sunday, September 18th.  The band performed well scoring a 61.85 and placed 3rd while competing against larger southeast Wisconsin groups.

The Band’s show is entitled The True Heroes of Iwo Jima”.  The show is based on the book “Flags of Our Fathers” written by James Bradley about his father John Bradley. John Bradley was as an “original” Iwo Jima flag raiser and both John and James were originally from Antigo. Vocie overs in the show are provided by Daniel Bradley, who is the grandson of John Bradley.

The AHS Marching Band will be presenting their show again at the home football game this Saturday, September 24th.  On Saturday October 1st at 6:30pm, the band will host the Antigo Marching Showcase and welcome other Marching Bands to Schofield Stadium.  The season continues at Merrill on October 2nd, Baldwind-Woodville on October 8th, UW River Falls on October 9th and the State Marching Band Championships on October 15th.
