Antigo Police & Langlade Co Sheriff Reports for 9/26/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Tuesday, September 13th
8:02 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Sunset Drive and 8th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
4:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
5:01 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Forrest Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle one was traveling south on Superior Street. Vehicle two was stopped at a stop sign. Vehicle two pulled out in front of vehicle one, failing to yield the right of way and struck vehicle one. One driver had a laceration to the head and a sore jaw from the airbag. A state accident report was completed.
5:09 PM Officers responded to a call from the employee of an area business on Superior Street reporting that there was a family in the parking lot across the street begging for money. They were in a silver van and holding a sign. Officers talked with the family who were from California. They told officers that they would be leaving the city.
Wednesday, September 14th
11:52 AM Officers cited a female subject for disorderly conduct on 10th Avenue. She got angry when she could not have her phone in class. She smashed her milk on the floor spraying the floor, walls, desks, students, teacher and laptop. She then began to swear and walked out of class. This was her 3rd offense.
12:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on 2nd Avenue reporting that her bottle of Adderall was stolen from her purse in her house. It had been full with 60 pills in it. The female gave officers the name of a male subject that she suspected of taking them. Officers spoke with the male subject who denied taking them.
12:58 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she was driving at Pine Street and Deleglise Street when she came upon a very, very large snake in the road. She did not run over it, but it was not moving. The caller called a home owner close by and told them about the “dead” snake, but the person said that it was not there anymore. The female subject called officers because she was concerned that this was a loose python that could still be loose around the city.
2:17 PM Officers received requests from area businesses in the strip mall on Hwy. 64 that vehicles/individuals in their lot should be asked to move along. They requested that names be taken and if warned more than once, that citations be issued. There has been loitering, littering, excessive noise, reckless driving, etc. It usually occurs around 7:00 PM or later.
3:04 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a two vehicle accident at Edison Street and Mendlik Avenue. Property damage only. One male driver was cited for no insurance. A state report was completed.
5:08 PM A female came to the Safety Building to report that a man in a maroon Chevy vehicle was following her while she was walking around 4th Avenue and Clermont Street. He then opened his door to try to talk to her, asking her name, etc. She kept walking. He got back in the car and left. The female got a license plate number, but it was incorrect. Officers checked a few other vehicles, but were unable to locate the correct vehicle.
8:36 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report that there was a blue Subaru spinning its tires, revving the engine and tearing through the alley around three times on 5th Avenue. Officers were advised but were unable to locate the vehicle.
11:22 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Arctic Street. The driver was arrested for operation after revocation and possession of marijuana, 2nd offense.
Thursday, September 15th
9:56 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting damage to some back windows at an area building on Clermont Street. Someone used a knife to cut a 12 inch slit on three window screens. Photos were taken. There were video cameras on the building. The female subject told officers that she would contact them if she saw something on the video.
11:11 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that two chains were taken from the back of his truck while it was parked on 5th Avenue. The male gave officers the name of a possible suspect.
1:46 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that someone on Lincoln Street had their stereo going all day long, every day. She wanted officers to talk to the subject. When officers arrived at the residence, all was quiet. There was no answer at the door.
3:58 PM Officers responded to a two car accident on Superior Street. Property damage only.
4:13 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Hudson Street reporting that medication was stolen from his vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked. A statement was taken. There were no suspects.
5:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 45. The driver was cited for operating after suspension.
6:57 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Badger Avenue reporting that a group of kids on bikes just tried to open his door. He stated that they then headed towards North Elementary. Officers talked with a group of kids on Graham Avenue by North Elementary. They were all warned.
7:07 PM Officers received a complaint of speeders going up and down Charlotte Street. Officers were advised.
11:19 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting children being loud and screaming in an apartment on 5th Avenue. The caller requested that they be checked on. Officers checked on the situation. A male subject with two children was in the apartment. The male subject stated that he and one of his children were yelling at the dog to shut up. Officers saw no evidence of intoxication. A copy of the report was sent to the Department of Social Services.
Friday, September 16th
12:26 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a couple of vehicles were behind an area business on Elm Street and kids were “hooting and hollering.” Officers were unable to locate.
1:38 AM Officers were out with people near an area business on 5th Avenue. A male subject was cited for public urination.
8:53 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle parked in traffic at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. It appeared that the vehicle owner had intended to park the car, but had not done it very well. The vehicle owner arrived at the same time as the tow truck. The vehicle was not towed.
1:44 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he thought gas had been siphoned from his truck while it was parked in the municipal lot behind the post office. The subject stated that this was the second time it has happened. He requested an extra patrol.
6:27 PM Officers responded to a call from the owner of an area business on Edison Street reporting that an intoxicated subject that was told to stay away, was back again. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the subject.
Saturday, September 17th
12:31 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a dog had been barking for over an hour on 5th Avenue. The dog was barking when officers arrived. There was no answer at the door. The dog owner had been warned before, so a citation was mailed to her.
6:39 AM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that a female subject was staggering in the street at 4th Avenue and Pine Street, heading toward Elm Street. She was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. Officers were unable to locate.
9:36 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on Neva Road. Property damage only. There were no injuries. A vehicle was towed. A state report was filed.

7:04 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a barking dog on Artic Street. Officers warned the dog owner that they needed to do something with the animal or they would be cited.
Sunday, September 18th
12:12 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended and displaying false registration.
3:10 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Elm Street. The driver was cited for violation of license restriction.
9:22 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that an area business on Superior Street appeared to be broken into. The subjects had made several attempts to pry open machines with a one inch pry bar. There were no suspects. The business owner was contacted.
12:52 PM Officers were out with an open door at an area business on Dorr Street. All appeared to be ok inside. Dispatch tried to contact the owners. Officers secured the door.
2:02 PM Officers responded to a call from the emergency room of the Langlade Hospital requesting an officer for a female patient that was causing a disturbance. The female subject was not satisfied with her service. Officers stayed until the female was discharged.
2:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a possible intoxicated driver in a bronze, four door vehicle. The caller stated that the vehicle almost side swiped her while driving on Superior Street. She stated that the vehicle was all over the road. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
2:15 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on 8th Avenue reporting that a new game camera, in the box and a pack of batteries was stolen from his unlocked vehicle in his unlocked garage. He stated to officers that the theft occurred a couple of weeks ago. He just wanted it on file. The value of the item was $50.
4:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Irving Street and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
4:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
6:23 PM Officers were out with a subject at 9th Avenue and Weix Street. The subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections probation warrant and was transported to Corrections.
9:10 PM Officers were out with a subject at Neva Road and Ackley Street. The subject was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and was transported to Corrections.
11:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Maple Street. The driver was cited for not having their license with them.
Monday, September 19th
4:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 5th Avenue. The female driver was cited for littering.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, September 14
3:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. N reporting that a Ford Mercury car was missing from her garage. She also stated that the light switch in her truck was on, the battery was dead and the interior of the truck was in disarray. The keys had been in the missing vehicle and the vehicle was unlocked. The female was unaware when the vehicle was taken. She initially thought that a family member may have taken the car. Officers contacted some family members, who denied taking the car. The vehicle was entered as stolen. The stolen vehicle was later located at the Langlade Hospital parking lot near the emergency entrance. Officers received surveillance video and were able to identify the suspect.
Thursday, September 15th
12:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a female stating that she struck a piece of metal in the roadway near St. Hwy. 64 and Hafemeister Road and it ruptured the gas tank in her car, a 1998 Chevy Lumina. She was sitting on St. Hwy. 64. Officers were advised.
2:20 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive-off of $10 that occurred five minutes earlier. The vehicle was described as a green Chevy trailblazer. The male driver and female passenger had come into the business, purchased other items and were asked if they had gas. They said no. Officers were advised. The business called officers again at 5:18 PM saying that the male subject was coming back to pay for the gas.
3:56 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on W. Goose Island Road reporting that the people in the house to the south have all kinds of animals that roam around and their cat was under her wheel chair ramp and their pig ripped up her garbage. Officers left a note on the owner’s door asking her to call. At 7:40 PM the owner called officers and they advised her of the complaint.
3:57 PM Officers responded to a motorist reporting that a male subject was on Hwy. 52 and Cty. Rd. HH in the wrong lane, slumped over the wheel. An ambulance was sent. Officers assisted the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office.
6:23 PM Officers responded to an anonymous male reporting a tan or brown Buick Century westbound on St. Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. P that was swerving all over the road. The caller stated that it almost hit a semi head on and it was passing several cars in a no passing lane. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 64 and Orchard Road. The male driver was arrested for operating while suspended and a local warrant.
Saturday, September 17th
8:32 PM A female came to the Safety Building to report a suspicious person. The female subject’s 20 yr. old daughter was speaking with a male subject while working at an area business in Antigo and gave the male subject the contact information for the reporting person’s business. The reporting female received a phone message from the male subject. In his message, the male subject said that he was not interested in the business, but was inquiring about the female subject’s daughter and her friends as they were in “the right age group for a project I’m working on in Land O’ Lakes.” The female thought that the content of the message was very suspicious and concerning. She thought it may be linked to prostitution of human trafficking. The female gave officers the name and phone number of the male subject. Officers advised the female subject that they would keep the information on file and her daughter should stop by if she had any concerns.
Sunday, September 18th
11:13 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on W. Goose Island Road reporting that her neighbor’s pot belly pig was in her yard again. When officers arrived the pig was gone, but a black & white cat ran across in front of the complainant’s house, clearly on her property. Officers spoke the female subject that owned the animals. She did not believe that her animals were in the neighbor’s yard. Officers saw at least five cats, two pigs and a dog outside. Officers advised the owner that she needed to keep the animals on her property or she would be cited.
8:10 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male subject stating that he crashed his motorcycle at the intersection of Cty. Rd. Z and Cty. Rd. K. He stated that the motorcycle was on his ankle and he believed that he had broken ribs. The male subject was taken to Langlade Hospital by the Elcho EMS. The male subject was cited for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense, operating without a valid driver’s license (motorcycle), failure to maintain control and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was referred for criminal operating while intoxicated.
