Tuesday Night Running Club September 13th 5:15-6pm Aspirus Hospital, 112 East Fifth Ave., Antigo. Tuesday Run Club will be meeting every Tuesday at Health & Performance Center (Aspirus Hospital) at 5:15pm for a run. The running club is intended to be an opportunity to run with others. It is not a competitive event – just an opportunity to meet people that like to do the same thing as you – Get Outside & Run! We will run 3-4 miles. 35th Annual Tomahawk Fall Ride for MDA September 15th-18th The Tomahawk Fall Ride brings in more than 40,000 motorcycle enthusiasts & others to the area each September. The event raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Events include the annual bonfire & brat fry at SARA Park. Music & food from 6-9pm. MDA events at Sara Park include: paddle raffle; The Big Deal Dump – Pick a Prize; Official Hog Pin Stop; demo rides; Official MDA Fall Ride & Harley Davidson merchandise; a variety of food & vendors. Activities & events at Sara Park & downtown, Thursday through Saturday. On Friday, the Thunder Parade will start at 6 pm east on Kings Rd to Cty. D. After an 18 mile ride will end up downtown. Please dress for the weather. Riders under age 18 require helmets. All riders must sit on the back of a bike (side cars will not be available). Live music on both ends of downtown Tomahawk after the Thunder Parade.
Play & Learn September 15th 9:30-11am Antigo Community Church – Room #2, 723 Deleglise Street, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness and milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages and Stages questionnaires are made available to parents and caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Six impactful Townsend residents come back to life to tell their family stories while standing beside their gravestones. Admission is $6. 17th Annual Lakes and Leaves Bike Ride September 17th 7am-2pm Summit Lake Park, US Highway 45, Summit Lake. This annual ride offers some of the most beautiful road riding in Langlade County. Helmets are required. There will be rest areas, food & refreshments. With 4 different route lengths (6, 18, 38, & 62 mile) we have something for everyone. Riders of all ages may participate. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Event will be held rain or shine. Friday, September 16, 2016 is a meet & greet at the Refuge Restaurant (corner of Hwy. 45 & 64) from 5 pm to 7 pm to meet fellow riders, pick up your T-shirt, & route map. Appetizers will be provided. Pre-registered & non-registered riders must check in between 7am & 11am on Saturday at Summit Lake Park located 17 miles north of Antigo off Hwy 45 N in Summit Lake. 2nd Annual Kendal Bug Shuffle September 17th Cardinal Park, 200 E. Madison St., Crandon. 7am registration. Walk begins at 8:30am. A fun run/walk designed for casual runners, walkers and joggers. The Kendal Bug Shuffle 3K is locally organized & 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Registration fee is $15/individual, $70/family (up to 5 family members). There will also be concessions, face painting & lady bug tattoos.

Dog Powered Sports 101 September 17th-18th MaKaJaWan Boy Scout Reservation, W6500 Spring Lake Road, Pearson. The Langlade County Sled Dog Club is holding a free seminar to anyone that is interested in learning about Canicross, Bikejoring, Scooter, & Rig Carts. MaKaJaWan Boy Scout Reservation is home to the Dirty Dog Derby Dryland Race. This is a free seminar taught by experienced dog people. There will be home cooked lunch available on site. Rustic camping is also available on site. There are also nearby accommodations & restaurants. Come for one day or both. EAA Warbird Badger Squadron Annual Oconto Fly-In September 17th 9-5pm Oconto Airport, 2983 Airport Road, Oconto. Warbird aircraft that are planning to attend in 2016 are Yaks, L 19 Bird Dogs, a TBM Avenger, Beech B-18, Corsair SNJ-5 & various others. An opening ceremony honoring our veterans is scheduled at 10:30am. A wide variety of food, beverages & desserts will be available. Airplane & helicopter rides will be available for a fee. Remote Controlled (R. C.’s) will fly during the day with a one hour show scheduled at 2pm. Admission is $5. There is also a car & tractor show. Ages 12 & under are FREE! Parking is free. 26th Annual Lake Tomahawk Lioness Club Harvest Festival/Lions Car Show September 17th 9am-3pm Snow Shoe Baseball Diamond, Lake Tomahawk.
