CoVantage Cares Foundation offers local support
For the Antigo Times
CoVantage Credit Union has recently announced the establishment of the CoVantage Cares Foundation.
As a member-owned financial cooperative, CoVantage Credit Union has a history of working to improve the communities where their members live and work. This includes providing financial support to efforts that help keep communities strong. In 2015, CoVantage donated just over $200,000 benefiting 640 groups ranging from 4-H, Little League and Scouts, to victim abuse shelters, food pantries, and humane societies.
According to Brian Prunty, CoVantage Credit Union CEO, “We believe the credit union has an obligation to give back to our members and communities by sharing some of the financial success our organization achieves. Financial giving is one of the ways we fulfill our mission, and it also makes good business sense because our giving makes communities stronger, which in turn helps ensure the success of the credit union. As our credit union has grown, we decided it was time for us to formalize how we give. As a result, the credit union’s board approved the establishment of CoVantage Cares Foundation, Inc.”
CoVantage Cares Foundation’s mission is to support charitable and educational purposes by providing funds to local organizations that provide financial assistance to individuals, especially those experiencing significant financial challenge, and to organizations working to enhance the quality of life of residents living in communities served by CoVantage Credit Union. While the Foundation is in its early stages, it has already provided a number of grants, including a total of $3,400 to nine food pantries in communities where the credit union has branches.
