Heavy rain expected across most of Wisconsin through Thursday

Motorists are encouraged to use safe driving practices and obey traffic control devices

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) would like to remind motorists to be cautious if traveling in what could be hazardous conditions. Heavy rain is expected to affect primarily west and central Wisconsin through Thursday evening. The threat for flash flooding is increased due to already wet soil conditions and elevated water levels on many rivers. Other potential impacts include nighttime flooding, mud and/or rock slides.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution on all area roads, pay attention to barricades and to not drive through standing water.
