Thomas “Tommy” P. Umland, 44, Birnamwood, died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at his home under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
He was born on February 25, 1972 in Antigo, the son Lester and Joyce (Klopotek) Umland.
Tommy graduated from Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School in 1990. He owned and operated the family farm, Umland Farms, LLC. Tommy enjoyed hunting, listening to old country music, driving tractor and watching the Packers. He was a hard worker and never complained about anything.
Survivors include his parents, Lester and Joyce Umland, Birnamwood; one sister, Linda (Chris) Barber, Weston; three brothers, Robert (Amy) Umland, Weston, James Umland, Birnamwood and William Umland, Birnamwood; one nephew, Jordan Umland and two nieces, Tabitha (fiancé Sam Erlandson) Barber and Sierra Barber. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Tommy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Milda Umland; his maternal grandparents, Alois and Meta Klopotek and step-grandfather, Walter Scholz.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30am on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Birnamwood. Rev. Adam Roberts will officiate.
