ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, October 3rd
3:26 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The female driver was cited for speed.
4:05 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that while he was out walking with his puppy, a pit bull at Arctic Street and Graham Avenue came at them and tried to bite them. Officers attempted to make contact with the dog’s owner at the residence. There was no answer at the door.
Tuesday, October 4th
5:04 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that two younger male subjects just tried to cash in a large amount of coins that they claimed they dug up in the back yard. The subjects were then heading to another area business on Hwy. 64. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the subjects.
7:41 PM Officers responded to a complaint of a dog barking non-stop on the south side of 10th Avenue by Fred Street. The caller had spoken to the owners about the barking, but they did nothing about it. Officers talked with the female owner. She was warned that she would be receiving a citation, if officers got another call about the dog barking.
Wednesday, October 5th
8:40 AM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that every morning around 6:00 AM a male subject on Pine Street leaves in his vehicle and it is very loud. The female subject had it taped on her phone. Officers listened to the tape. It was very loud. 10/7/16 6:05 AM Officers stopped the vehicle at Deleglise Street and Smith Avenue. The male driver was given a ten day correction notice for a loud muffler.
11:16 PM Officers attempted to stop a vehicle at E. 5th Avenue and Langlade Road. The subject vehicle, a green pickup truck, did not stop and continued northbound on Langlade Road to Hwy. 52, then went east on Hwy. 64 to Gruenberg Road and left the highway. The vehicle was towed. Both subjects were transported to Langlade Hospital. A Department of Corrections warrant was issued to the male driver instead of a hold due to the transport to the hospital. He was charged with felony fleeing, operating without a license, 2nd offense, resisting/obstructing an officer, and cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle was impounded. 10/6/16 8:00 AM Officers stopped at the Langlade Hospital to check on the male subject. They were informed that he had been released at 6:20 AM. Officers checked several locations, but were unable to locate the male subject.
Thursday, October 6th
10:18 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they were missing several packs of cigarettes. Officers spoke with a male subject who admitted to taking them. The male subject was referred for retail theft.
10:28 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that an older man drove into a driveway on Arctic Street, nearly struck people working there and the male subject was ‘laying on the horn.’ The male subject then drove northbound on Arctic Street in a gold Buick passenger car that had some front end damage. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.
3:10 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and 5th Avenue. The male driver was cited for speed.
3:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The male driver was cited for speed.
7:07 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Superior Street reporting that a young female had been chased by an adult male. The female subject ran into the business to use the phone. The caller had not witnessed the incident. Officers talked with the female subject. She told officers that she was followed, not chased. She was not sure if the person was male or female. The only description that she could give officers was that the subject was tall and wearing dark clothing. Officers took the female home and told her father about the incident.
Friday, October 7th
4:42 AM Officers were out with a male subject at 4th Avenue and Superior Street. Officers came upon the male subject sleeping on a bench. He told officers that he had been on the street since Monday, when he got kicked out of his apartment. Officers gave the male subject until sunrise to move along.
6:05 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and Smith Avenue. The male driver was given a ten day correction notice for a loud muffler.
8:05 AM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Superior Street reporting that a female subject came in around 6:30 AM and pumped $15.01 in gas. She then stated that she forgot her wallet and would be right back. The female employee wrote down the vehicle’s license plate number. Officers called and left a message with the listed owner to call them back.
3:36 PM Officers responded to a minor accident at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. Vehicle two was stopped at a red light. Vehicle one bumped into vehicle two at a very low speed. There was no apparent damage to either vehicle. A non-reportable accident report was completed.
8:52 PM Officers responded to a report of a black Audi driving around with subjects wearing clown masks, scaring people. They were not making any driving violations, just being creepy. Officers stopped the vehicle on 5th Avenue. They spoke with two male subjects. They were warned to keep away from the football field and not to get out of hand or they would be cited for disorderly conduct.
Saturday, October 8th
12:11 AM Officers stopped of vehicle of Forrest Avenue and Dorr Street. The male driver was cited for speed. An educational pamphlet was given out.
1:10 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Watson Street reporting that his car was egged last night. The caller did not hear or see anything.
3:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The male driver was given a ten day correction for expired registration.
5:35 PM Officers responded to two complaints of a maroon Mazda vehicle northbound on Hwy. 45 from Aniwa moving slowly, speeding and erratically driving. Officers stopped the vehicle at Superior Street and Cherry Street. The male driver failed the standardized field sobriety test and was arrested for operating while intoxicated (drug related), possession of prescription drugs x 3, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation hold.
11:31 PM Officers responded to two reports of a male subject with a painted face, wearing a hoodie and chasing people with an axe handle (with no axe head). The subject tried going into an area business on 5th Avenue, after it had been locked. Officers also received information that the suspect may have entered another area business on 5th Avenue. Officers viewed video of the male subject trying to enter two doors at the area business. Multiple subjects on Facebook reported that the male subject was chasing people out of the business. Officers searched the area and three area businesses, but were unable to locate the male subject.
11:44 PM Officers were out with a vehicle on 6th Avenue. The male driver was arrested on an Oneida County warrant.
Sunday, October 9th
2:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The male driver was cited for no proof of insurance.
3:12 AM Officers received an anonymous call reporting that there was arguing and yelling in the back of the parking lot at West Elementary School. It was actually a small underage drinking party on Elm Street. Officer ran some kids down in the back yard. One male subject was cited for underage alcohol consumption and possession of tobacco. He was turned over to his mother. One female subject was cited for underage alcohol consumption and her mother was called. Another female subject was cited for underage alcohol consumption and was turned over to her mother.
4:12 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that his bike was stolen while he was at an area business on 5th Avenue. It was a black BMX bike with brownish yellow rims.
6:54 PM Officers responded to a call from the manager of an area business on Neva Road reporting a two vehicle accident. A state report was completed.
8:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a subject on Field Street reporting a house on fire. The house was vacant, the gas was locked out and there was power to the electric meter, but no power to the residence from the meter. The origin of the fire was in the back, southeast porch area. Samples were taken at the fire’s origin. A male subject was at residence on 10/9/16 at about 1 to 1:45 PM clearing out items. There was no fire or smoke at that time. The case was still under investigation.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, October 6th
7:05 PM Officers responded call from the Town of Antigo Fire department reporting an accident at the intersection of Hwy. 52 and Hwy. 64. There were no injuries. The male driver of one vehicle was cited for failure to yield the right of way. One vehicle was towed.
Friday, October 7th
8:44 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that his boat motor was taken during the night. The boat was in the lot next to his residence on Circle Drive in Elcho. The motor was a 20 HP Mercury with an electric start, electric tilt and long shaft. The male subject also told officers that on 10/6/16 at around 1:30 PM a red four door Jeep drove by the area very slowly. It then drove back north about 30 minutes later.
12:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting a vehicle accident on the corner of Hwy. 55 and Hwy. 64. The male caller reported that he was rear-ended. Property damage only. The female driver of the other vehicle was cited for no insurance. A state report was completed.
Sunday, October 9th
3:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that when she went to a residence on Markton Drive in White Lake to fumigate for the exterminating company she worked for, the patio door was broken, possibly burglarized. The owner was last at the residence on September 23rd and 24th. 10/10/16 3:58 PM Officers received a call from the owner stating that he was missing a Husqvarna 20” chainsaw, 12 years old, with a value of $225. He also stated that when he went to start his ATV, he noticed that the thieves had jimmied something to try and start it. He would now have to replace the ignition switch.
5:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he had just witnessed a rollover accident on Langlade Road. There were possibly two people trapped and the vehicle was smoking. There was property and mailbox damage to two addresses on Langlade Road. The State Patrol handled the accident report.
Tuesday, October 11th
9:56 AM Officers received a call from the owner of an area business on Hwy. 55 in White Lake reporting that she had received a call from her employee stating that front door had been busted open and the cash register was taken. The owner reported to officers that there was only change in the cash register. She had closed the business at 10:00 PM on 10/9/16 and it was not open on 10/10/16. Officers were advised.
