Chrystal Dawn Hurlbert, 60
Chrystal Dawn Hurlbert, Wausau resident formerly of Bryant, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 60 years old.
She was born October 21, 1955 in Antigo, daughter of the late Harlan and Vera (Spencer) Hurlbert. She attended Spring Valley Elementary School, and graduated from Antigo High School in 1974. After graduation, she was employed at Volm Bag in Antigo. She later worked as a housekeeper at the Wausau Exel Inn until 2013, where she was devoted to her work.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Polar.
Chrystal loved animals, especially dogs and her cats Snuggles and Cuddles. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. She enjoyed knitting, and completing paint-by-numbers and dot-to-dot art. She was well-liked by her many friends for her pleasant, easy-going personality.
Survivors include her boyfriend, Gaylord Wesco of Wausau; a sister, Pamela (Alan) Bahr of Bryant; a brother, Calvin (Jeanette) Hurlbert of Bryant; 2 nephews, Jordan Bahr of Stevens Point, and Austin Bahr, currently attending UW-Stout in Menominee; and step-nieces and nephew .
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Hurlbert.
A funeral service will take place Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, N3480 County S, Antigo, WI, with Vicar Pam Werth officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Bent Cemetery in Bryant.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Chrystal’s name.
