Daniel James Bathke, 68
Daniel James Bathke, age 68, of Gleason died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital.
Dan was born on July 1, 1948 to the late Wayne Bathke and Virginia (Skibba) Andrews in Milwaukee, WI.
On March 2, 1968 he was united in marriage to Sandra Wensierski. She survives and resides in Gleason.
Dan was a graduate of Riverside High School in Milwaukee.
He owned and operated Dan’s Lakeside Service to in St. Francis for many years before moving to the Gleason area.
Dan was known for his storytelling and junk collecting. He began hobby farming when he moved to Gleason, raising cows, pigs and chickens. He always had a great love for dogs as well. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and continued to do mechanical work on cars and farm equipment for friends and neighbors. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and loved his family dearly.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, survivors include a son, Robert Bathke of Gleason, 2 daughters, Lyn (fiancé William Schultz, Jr) Gore, Cindy (Joe) Igl both of Antigo, 9 grandchildren, Brittany, Amber, Jared, Hunter, Nicholas, Madelyn, Caden, Joshua, and Jayden, a sister, Marilyn (Thomas) Goodman of Oak Creek, Richard (Ann) Bathke of Greenfield, Jimmy Bathke of Gleason and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday at 12:00 noon at St. John Catholic Church. Father Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM until noon at the church in Hoffmann Hall.
