Antigo Police and Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/28/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, November 14th
3:31 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that her bike was stolen a couple of weeks ago on Clermont Street. It was a black and purple BMX bike with skulls on it.
3:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a female at 5th Avenue and Sunset Drive reporting criminal damage to her vehicle. She told officers that an unknown male subject with two kids, one in each hand and a baby on his chest kicked her car on the rear passenger side door and behind the rear tire. He was last seen westbound on 5th Avenue from Sunset Drive. The only description the caller could give officers was that the male subject was wearing a black hat. Officers were unable to locate the subject.
11:46 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and was given a ten day correction warning for non-registration.
Tuesday, November 15th
3:14 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 5th Avenue and Deleglise Street. There were no injuries. A crossing guard witnessed the accident.
8:24 AM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she hit a deer at Hwy. 64 and N. Hogan Street on her way home from work. She told officers that there was front end damage on the driver’s side. There were no injuries. The deer ran off. A voluntary report was completed.
10:12 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a male subject in his 30’s was there and didn’t seem to know where he was or who he was. They requested officer assistance. Officers arrested the male subject for the possession of meth.
Wednesday, November 16th
7:39 AM Officers responded to a call from Antigo High School requesting an officer for a female subject who was causing a disturbance. The female subject was gone upon the officer’s arrival. The female had been upset that her daughter was being bullied at school.
8:26 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Birch Street reporting that his locked truck was entered during the night and he was missing several items. He told officers that he had parked it in the driveway at around 9:00 PM. He thought that he had locked it. The doors were now open. He was missing a crossbow worth $1,700, binoculars worth $1,000; a Nikon camera $300, a jack knife and a tactical light $100. The male subject gave officers the name of one possible suspect.
11:23 AM Officers responded to a call from Antigo Middle School requesting an officer for a male student who had threatened other students. The male subject had threatened to cut the entire classes’ throats when other students told the male subject to be quiet while they were reading.
3:24 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they believed that a couple in their mid-20’s was going to leave the store with items that they had not paid for. The caller gave officers a description of the male and female subjects. Officers cited both subjects for retail theft.
3:30 PM Officers received a call from a tenant of an apartment building on 5th Avenue reporting that someone has been throwing garbage bags down into the water. The caller could not reach the garbage, but they suggested to officers that the landlord should check the garbage for any names to find out who threw it there.
Thursday, November 17th
9:38 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 5th Avenue reporting that she had lost her wallet and now found out that some charges had been made on one of her cards. The caller completed a statement. Officers advised the female to close her accounts. Officers contacted her bank. They were told that there was video of the debit card being used in Wausau and Weston. Officers were investigating.
11:38 AM Officers received a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they had video footage of a female subject shoplifting. They told officers that they had at least four confirmed shoplifting incidents involving the female subject. They told officers that the female subject comes to the store 3 to 4 times a day. Officers advised the business to contact them the next time that the female subject came to the business.
2:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her seven year old son did not get off the bus on Clermont Street like he was supposed to. Officers talked with the bus driver who stated that the child did not get on the bus at North Elementary School. Officers later received a call from the boy’s mother saying that the boy had been located. He had gotten into a vehicle instead of getting on the bus. Officers spoke with the boy about getting on the bus and not getting into a vehicle with people that he did not know.
3:37 PM Officers received a call from a crossing guard at 7th Avenue and Superior Street who told officers that a vehicle went through while she was directing traffic. The crossing guard gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers left a message with the female subject to call them.
5:23 PM Officers responded to a minor two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Vehicle One was waiting to pull out of the parking lot. Vehicle Two drove in at the wrong driveway, attempted to back out, and hit Vehicle One. A voluntary report was completed.
9:35 PM Officers received a call from a female on 9th Avenue reporting that a young male subject, around 18 years old, tried to enter her home, claiming he was lost and couldn’t find his way home. The caller told officers that he appeared intoxicated or “on something.” The caller could not give officers a description of what the male subject was wearing. Officers were unable to locate him.
11:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed. A traffic education pamphlet was given out.
Friday, November 18th
10:58 AM Officers received a call from a male subject on a deactivated cell phone reporting that his cell phone was stolen from his apartment on Dorr Street. The last time he saw it was on his couch while it was charging. The caller told officers about a male subject that he thought was a possible suspect. Officers told the male caller to contact them the next time that he saw the male subject or if he found the phone.
1:45 PM Officer received a call from a female subject reporting that she struck a pole in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. A voluntary report was completed.
2:08 PM A male came to the Safety Building to report that a male subject jumped across the hood of his son’s car when he left school at 10th Avenue and Sunset Drive on 11/4/16. It left two small dents. The male subject’s parents now refused to pay for the damage. Officers told the reporting male that the information would be on file.
2:13 PM Officer responded to a two car accident on Clermont Street. Property damage only. There were no injuries.
4:34 PM Officers received a 911 call from a male subject on 6th Avenue reporting that his neighbor’s dog tried to bite him.
9:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to sop at a stop sign. A traffic education class was offered.
11:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was issued a 10 day correction warning for non-registration.
Saturday, November 19th
2:07 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a suspicious older gentleman in the store that had been there for about an hour. Officers spoke with the male subject at length. He was working through some medical issues. He was fine and eventually left the store. Officers followed him and his driving was fine.
3:10 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
3:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Arctic Street reporting that her grandchild was out of control. There was no weapon. Officers arrested the reporting female on a probation hold. She was on probation and had a no drink restriction. She was in violation.
5:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting a problem with a patron. A female subject in her 50’s with blond hair had been causing problems and was asked to leave. She came back into the business smoking, threw some bottles and punched a male subject in the face. The female subject was taken home by her husband.
5:44 PM Officers responded to a call from an area church. A male subject had come into the church screaming and yelling and then took off. Officers stopped the subject’s vehicle. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct. 7:06 PM Officers received another call from an area church reporting criminal damage to property involving the same male subject.
11:29 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
11:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was issued a written warning for an improper right turn.
Sunday, November 20th
2:36 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense. The passenger was arrested on two Langlade County warrants.
4:40 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a person that her daughter had a restraining order against was harassing them. Officers referred the male subject for violating his restraining order and two counts of bail jumping.
5:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for non-registration.
Monday, November 21st
3:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on 5th Avenue reporting that a male subject attempted to get in his front door. He was described as wearing a blue and white jacket with blue jeans. The male subject was lurking around the house a bit. He was walking back and forth while talking on a cell phone. Officers located the male subject. He was very intoxicated and got the wrong house. He was given a ride to 5th Avenue and Superior Street.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, November 17th
12:52 PM Officers responded to a call from the Elcho School reporting a male subject that was drinking a beer in the lunch room. The male subject was issued a citation for underage drinking.
Friday, November 18th
11:10 AM Officers referred a male subject for possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
12:27 PM Officers responded to call from a male reporting that his step-father’s truck was in the ditch on Hwy. 55 north of Cty. Rd. K. He gave officers the name of the female subject that he believed was driving. He said that she received a ride to the hospital from someone. The vehicle was towed. Officers contacted the hospital to see if the female subject had arrived. She did, along with a male subject. Both parties had sustained minor injuries. The male subject was cited for failure to notify authorities of an accident. It appeared to officers that the male subject had been driving at the time of the accident, but he denied that he was driving.
6:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he struck a cow on Cty. Rd. S, approximately ½ mile south of Hwy. 64. He did not need a wrecker. There were no injuries to the male subject, but there were injuries to the cow. A state report was completed.
Saturday, November 19th
6:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he came upon a male lying in the ditch, walking towards Antigo on Cty. Rd. F west of Cty. Rd. S. The male subject told the reporting person to call 911 for him before he froze to death. He was a white adult male with a coat and a beard. The caller thought that the male subject seemed like he was intoxicated. Officers took the male subject into custody on a probation hold.
7:47 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female on Hwy. 52 reporting that a female subject was in a crash on Hwy. 52, came to her house and told the caller that she wanted an ambulance for back and head pain because she put her car in the ditch.
8:05 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was on Hwy. 55 with his wife who had just been involved in a two vehicle accident. He told officers that he believed that his wife’s vehicle was drivable and that both vehicles were off the road. Property damage only.
Sunday, November 20th
9:57 AM Officers received a call from a male subject from Sun Prairie reporting that he lost his gun while hunting near Hwy. 64 in White Lake. The gun was a Winchester Model 670 bolt action rifle with a scope valued at $400.
11:14 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he thought someone tried to break into his property for sale on Cty. Rd. F. At the back side of the garage was a dog door that was kicked in. No entry was gained. Nothing else was broken or missing.
