Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/14/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, October 31st
9:56 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a vehicle had been parked in their lot for two days. Officers were unable to find a phone number for the vehicle owner. Officers advised the business that they could have the vehicle towed.
10:30 AM Officers received a request from North Elementary school for a police presence at a “Trunk or Treat” event that they were having that evening at the school.
11:50 AM Officers responded to a call reporting a white semi traveling eastbound on Hwy. 64 from Hwy. 51 that was all over the road. County squads were advised. Officers received a second call that the semi was now on Century Avenue. Officers pulled the semi over at Hwy. 64 and Clermont Street. The driver had been pre-occupied.
3:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in a parking lot on Edison Street. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance.
3:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he heard a bunch of swearing and saw a male subject punch a mailbox on Clermont Street. He stated that the subject was walking southbound wearing a black jacket with a hoodie underneath it. Officers received a second call from a female reporting that she saw the male subject rip the mailbox from its post. Officers cited the male subject for criminal damage to property.
3:40 PM Officers responded to a call from the Antigo Middle School requesting that a male student be removed, as he refused to leave the school. The male student was removed, talked to by the officers and sent on his way.
4:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a citizen reporting that they saw a bike on the south side of an apartment building on Clermont Street that matched the description of a recently reported stolen bike. It was a green and white Genesis V2100 26” men’s mountain bike. Officers took the bike to the impound. No matches were found.
5:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Eckart Street. The driver was cited for speed.
8:02 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of people screaming, fighting and breaking things on Morse Street. A male subject took off prior to the officer’s arrival. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
10:15 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty Rd. X. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation, 2nd offense, operating while intoxicated related.
Tuesday, November 1st
1:11 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Maple Street. The driver was given a written warning for registration.
1:41 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, drug related.
10:49 AM Officers responded to a complaint of a green pickup truck that left black marks on the roadway on Clermont Street. The caller reported that the vehicle took off again, northbound on Edison Street squealing its tires. Officers spoke with the female vehicle owner and her boyfriend. They were warned that any further black marks in front of their house would lead to a citation.
11:38 AM Officers cited a male student with disorderly conduct at Antigo Middle School on 10/25/16.
12:55 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a silver Chrysler van was in the wrong lane of traffic and was all over the road. It was traveling northbound at Clermont Street and Center Street. Officers stopped the vehicle. The elderly female driver was written for re-examination of her driver’s license.
3:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Sunset Drive and 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
5:31 PM Offices stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Western Road. The driver was cited for speed.
5:34 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation.
Wednesday, November 2nd
9:50 AM Officers referred a male student for disorderly conduct for multiple disruptive and disrespectful behaviors at Antigo Middle School.
11:59 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting suspicious activity around her apartment on Charlotte Street. She told officers that the day before, around 4:00 PM, an African-American male subject wearing a red hoodie was peeking in her window. The caller told officers that she knew that the male subject was staying in the apartment complex. Officers talked with the male subject and warned him about his activities. The male subject admitted to looking in the window. He told officers that he was bored.
2:26 PM Officers responded to a report of a two car accident at 10th Avenue and Dorr Street. Property damage only. There were no injuries. A state report was completed.
3:35 PM Officers charged a male student with disorderly conduct for being disorderly with another male student at Antigo Middle School.
3:53 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting damage to her Chevy Trailblazer while it was parked that the Antigo High School from approximately 7:20 AM to 3:00 PM. The rearview mirror on the passenger side was gone. The school was checking their video.
6:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his vehicle was just involved in a hit and run while it was parked on Nantasket Street. The other vehicle took off. The caller described the vehicle as a dark colored Jeep. He stated that it should have a broken driver’s side taillight. Officers located the other vehicle. A voluntary report was completed.
8:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Field Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
Thursday, November 3rd
3:10 AM Officers responded to a call reporting that the male subject on Virginia Street was revving his bike and then there was a loud backfire. Officers received a second noise complaint. Officers talked with the male subject who said that he did a burnout on the motorcycle and then blew a tire. He also had a radio on very loud. Officers issued the male subject a citation for violation of the noise ordinance.
7:41 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for speed.
1:56 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Edison Street reporting that he found a male dog in his driveway. It was described as medium sized, with white fur and no collar. Officers transported the dog to the Humane Society.
2:50 PM Officers picked up a brown, pit bull mix dog at 10th Avenue and Sunset Drive. It was taken to the Humane Society.
3:50 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female reporting that there was a loud gray Dodge truck chasing a young male down the street on N. Superior Street heading toward 5th Avenue. The young male appeared to be 10-12 years old and had a tan back pack. Officers were unable to locate.
4:32 PM Officers responded to a call from a female school bus driver reporting a traffic complaint at the high school. She told officers that for the third time in the last two weeks, a gray Trailblazer pulled out in front of her bus. She gave officers the license plate number. The bus driver was afraid that someone on the bus would eventually get hurt since she had to brake so fast. Officers warned the driver.
4:37 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a syringe on the sidewalk on Lincoln Street. Officers located it and placed it in a Sharps container.
5:59 PM Officers were working on a case of credit card theft. They viewed videos from the area businesses involved. They identified the female subject. She was charged with theft, unauthorized use of an individual’s personal identifying information and two felony counts of bail jumping. A written statement of non-consent was obtained.
11:46 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 2nd Avenue reporting that a male subject was chasing a female down the street. Officers arrested the male subject on a Department of Corrections warrant.
Friday, November 4th
2:14 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report of someone in a building on Clermont Street knocking on doors. Officers located a very intoxicated female who didn’t remember where she lived. She stayed with a friend for the night.
2:08 PM A female came to the Safety Building to report a suspicious person that walked towards her vehicle while it was parked on 9th Avenue. She had left the vehicle running while she went inside a business. The female’s husband stayed in the vehicle. A male subject walked towards her vehicle as though he was going to open the driver’s door and get in. The male subject quickly diverted when he noticed that there was a person still inside the vehicle. The female described the male subject as white, 40’s to 50’s, wearing a brown coat and a red stocking cap. Officers were advised.
3:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
4:27 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that her bike was stolen from her residence on Field Street. It was a red Timberland bike. She gave officers a detailed description of the bicycle.
5:20 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 45. There were no injuries. One vehicle was towed.
5:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The driver was cited for speed.
9:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
Saturday, November 5th
2:23 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
1:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a tire came off a vehicle and struck a parked truck at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was driving southbound from the stop and go lights at 5th Avenue when his driver’s side front tire came off, striking a red Ford Ranger in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The owner of the vehicle told officers that he had some work done at an area business and he thought maybe the lug nuts were loose. Photos were taken. The owners of the two vehicles worked out an arrangement for repairs.
2:55 PM Officers responded to report of very loud music with swear words blaring from inside a house on Lincoln Street. Officers warned the male subject to keep the music down.
10:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on E. 5th Avenue reporting that her father’s house was egged. She stated that her father heard girl’s laughing and saw a vehicle leaving eastbound. The female caller told officers that she had called an area business, who advised her that they sold six dozen eggs around 9:00 PM to some kids. Officers contacted the business to view their video.
Sunday, November 6th
1:38 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on 1st Avenue reporting that a neighbor was making a lot of noise and woke him up. Officers spoke with a female subject who stated that she was vacuuming and trying to fix the vacuum. Officers warned the female and advised her of the complaint.
1:45 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident on Langlade Road. There were no injuries. A female driver was cited for following too closely. A state report was completed.
1:51 AM Officers were out at a potential fight by an area business on Edison Street. A group scattered upon the officer’s arrival. A male subject was cited for open intoxicants off premises.
3:14 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 45. There were no injuries. A voluntary report was completed.
6:21 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Graham Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed and no insurance.
Monday, November 7th
12:20 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day written warning for registration and a verbal warning for speed.
12:33 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Century Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
2:21 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Virginia Street reporting that she was awakened by a noise on her back deck and saw a man standing on her deck, peeking in her window. Officers found no tracks. The female could not give a description. There were no suspects.
7:24 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was issued a citation for speed. A traffic education pamphlet was issued.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, November 3rd
2:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense. He was taken to the Safety Building to try and find a ride home.
1:07 PM A female came to the Safety Building to report computer crimes and theft of money. She told officers that someone called her bank on 11/1/16 and changed or attempted to change the PIN number on her debit card. The caller knew her name, birthdate, social security number and the answer to her security question. They then transferred funds from her savings to her checking account and used then used the debit card to make very large purchases. The female also reported to officers that earlier this year, someone used a remote log in for her husband’s work email and sent an email to the businesses’ accountant transferring funds into a checking account. Further investigation by officers confirmed a data breech at a retail business chain in the early months of 2016. The bank was aware and has had numerous complaints.
5:18 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she backed into a parked vehicle in the parking lot of an area business in Elton.
Friday, November 4th
9:58 AM Officers responded to a call from the owner of an area business advising them that one of his employees struck a power pole on Hwy. 45 and there were lines down. The caller did not know if the pole was damaged. Wisconsin Public service repaired the power pole and the roadway was reopened.
10:28 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that the motor was stolen from his boat on Bass Lake Road. The boat was parked on a concrete slab. No footprints could be seen. There was no physical evidence. The male subject last saw the motor at 6:30 PM the night before (11/3/16). The owner noticed it missing at 6:30 AM that morning. The neighbors did not report hearing or seeing anything. The motor was gray in color with a silver and orange stripe. It was valued at $1,000.
10:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a Dodge van was doing donuts in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 and then it went about 40 miles per hour across the lot exiting westbound on Hwy. 64. Officers stopped the vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The male driver was cited for unnecessary acceleration.
Saturday, November 5th
7:31 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that his crossbow, worth $700 and his compound bow, worth $500 were stolen from his residence on Hwy. 55 in White Lake on 11/3/16. He gave officers the name of a suspect. The caller told officers that he thought the items may get pawned. Officers were investigating and checking pawn shops.
4:49 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he got a call from someone claiming to service computers. The caller had demanded information and told the male subject that they had his computer number, which they did. Officers advised the male subject that they would try to follow up on the matter, but the subjects were probably out of the country. The reporting male was not out any money.
11:38 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of several kids drinking in a garage at a residence on Cty. Rd. A. The kids took off upon the officer’s arrival on the scene. All subjects over .000 preliminary breath test results were mailed citations. One male subject was referred to juvenile court for possession of marijuana.
Sunday, November 6th
8:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject at his cabin on Allen Road in White Lake reporting that he just heard a gunshot and noticed a pickup in the back field, heard guys yelling something and running through the woods. He told officers that the truck then went on Department of Natural Resources land. The vehicle left prior to the officer’s arrival. It was a red Chevy truck, late 80’s –early 90’s, with white stickers in the rear window.
