Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/7/16
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, October 24th
10:27 AM Officers received a call from a female subject on Virginia Street reporting that she had filled a prescription a couple of days ago and noticed today that it was missing from her car. The prescription was in the original store bag in the car. She had visited numerous other stores since she had picked it up, so she had no idea where or when the theft had occurred. A statement was taken and placed on file.
12:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Badger Avenue reporting that his rear door had been broken and his safe was missing. Two safes were taken from the home containing cash, old coins and old bills. The reporting male gave officers the name of a possible male suspect. 10/29/16 12:16 PM Officers received a call from the owner. He found a safe in his back yard. Officers took photos and the items were taken in to evidence for fingerprinting.
2:40 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. Vehicle One was traveling south on Hwy. 45. Vehicle Two was exiting a business lot and going to make a left turn onto Hwy. 45. Vehicle Two turned in front of Vehicle One, failing to yield the right of way. Vehicle On hit Vehicle Two. A vehicle was towed. Property damage only.
Tuesday, October 25th
8:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education pamphlet was issued.
10:55 AM Officers cited two male juvenile subjects for getting into a physical altercation at the Antigo High School on 10/20/16.
Wednesday, October 26th
1:13 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for an improper left turn.
8:04 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Antigo High School on 10th Avenue. Vehicle One was parked. Vehicle Two was parked. Vehicle One popped out of gear, traveled southbound striking Vehicle Two in the rear bumper. There was no damage to the vehicles, no injuries and no drivers.
8:44 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building with a small, brown, short haired male dog that was found at his house on Deleglise Street. Officers took the dog to the Humane Society.
12:36 PM Officers were on Mary Street checking on a junked vehicle complaint. There was an unregistered yellow truck in the driveway. The owner was given until 10/31/16 to get it registered.
12:36 PM Officers were on Hudson Street checking on a junked vehicle complaint. There was an unregistered Ford Mustang in the yard. The owner was given until 10/31/16 to get it registered.
12:38 PM Officers were on 4th Avenue checking on a junked vehicle complaint. An unregistered vehicle was in the back yard. The owner was given until 10/31/16 to get the vehicle removed or registered.
2:23 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting a missing dog. The dog was described as an older, black, female dog named Scooter.
3:14 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
10:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a possible intoxicated driver that just left a business on Neva Road. The driver was described as a 20-25 year old white male who had stumbled into the business. The male subject left southbound on Hwy. 45, while texting on the phone. Officers arrested the male driver for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and he was cited for non-registration.
Thursday, October 27th
8:54 AM Officers sent an abatement letter to a female subject on Edison Street for a couch lying out by the road. 10/30/16 The couch was removed.
1:41 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report possible identity theft. He told officers that he had received a letter from a bank confirming his account. The male subject never opened an account at that bank. He was not out any money that he knew of. He filed a theft complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and also checked his credit report. He told officer that he would contact them if he received any more information.
10:54 PM Officers responded to a complaint of two vehicles racing in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. One male subject had taken another male subject’s car from the lot of another area business across the road on Hwy. 64. The male subject drove it across the road and drove the vehicle around in the lot erratically. The male owner of the car came across the road and was demanding his vehicle back. One male subject was issued a citation for graduated driver’s license restrictions.
Friday, October 28th
4:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Langlade Road and S. Lincoln Street. The driver was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and cited for operating without a license.
7:59 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Dorr Street. The driver was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way to a driver. A traffic education class was offered.
3:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Freiburger Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
4:32 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was issued a 10 day warning for registration.
4:44 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a grey Honda Civic swerving and driving recklessly at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle at Superior Street and 5th Avenue. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
5:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Nantasket Street. The driver was cited for operating without a license.
8:49 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the lot of an area business on Neva Road. The driver was issued a citation for unreasonable and imprudent speed. Officers pulled over another vehicle at Pierce Avenue and N. Superior Street. The driver was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed. The two vehicles had been racing each other.
9:15 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting loud noise at a residence on 10th Avenue. Officers spoke with three males and one female. All parties were warned to keep the noise down.
Saturday, October 29th
12:58 AM Officers responded to a call from the Langlade County jail reporting that a subject came to bail someone out for operating while intoxicated, and this person had been drinking. Officers arrested the subject for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
4:11 PM Officers responded to a report of an eight year old girl who was wandering around lost at Clermont Street and Willard Avenue. The girl had been out with a friend and their parents trick or treating, but she got separated from them. Officers located the girl’s father.
11:34 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female reporting a fight that had just occurred outside an area business on Edison Street. One male subject was lying on the ground bleeding and knocked out. The caller did know the other male subject that was involved. Officers received a second call describing the second male subject that left the scene as a larger male, about six feet tall, with red hair, wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans that left going towards 5th Avenue. The first male subject was taken to the hospital. Officers later talked with the male subject at the hospital. He was not cooperative and refused to tell the officers what happened or who hit him.
Sunday, October 30th
12:57 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education pamphlet was issued.
1:35 AM Officers responded to a call reporting loud music at a residence on Clermont Street. Officers spoke with the male homeowner. He stated that he would quiet down for the night.
3:14 AM Officers received a call reporting a missing dog on Mendlik Street. The dog was a red bone hound wearing a black collar.
11:43 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 that was holding a female subject for retail theft. The incident was referred the district attorney’s office.
3:49 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
4:11 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for speed.
5:11 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an intoxicated male subject who had fallen down and was bleeding on 5th Avenue. EMS was paged. The male subject was taken to the hospital. The Department of Corrections put out a warrant for him. The male subject was later arrested on the Department of Corrections warrant.
5:48 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
8:15 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
9:29 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she felt that someone has been “messing with” her vacant home on Field Street. She told officers that a chair had been moved, the garage handle had been broken, and twenty concrete blocks were missing. She told officers that she would be installing a security camera. Officers were advised.
9:53 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that while she was on her porch, she was startled by a male subject who had his face painted blue and had spikey hair. She described him as being 5’7” wearing a denim jacket and he was dragging his feet when he walked. The caller thought he was suspicious. Officers were unable to locate the male subject.
Monday, October 31st
7:38 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on 8th Avenue. Property damage only. There were no injuries.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, October 26th
1:50 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she was a victim of fraud three years ago and didn’t report it. Now the same people were calling her again, trying to get more money. They were requesting remote access to her computer and money. Officers advised the female that this was a scam and not to follow their instructions or give them any money.
2:02 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she got a message on her computer to call Microsoft about a computer problem. She called and they told her that they had fixed the problem, but they now wanted money. The told the female that if she didn’t pay, her computer would be useless. She told officers that now it was. Officers advised the female that this was a scam and not to follow their instructions or give them any money.
4:32 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a female just left an area business on Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake that was either high or intoxicated. She was stumbling around. She left southbound on Hwy. 45 driving an older Jeep that was either dark blue or gray. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
Friday, October 28th
8:48 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report an accident that occurred around 6:00 AM. The male stated that he was driving westbound on Hwy. 64 by N. Hogan Street when something ran out in front of him causing him to brake quickly. There was a vehicle behind his vehicle that then struck his vehicle in the rear, causing damage to the bumper. The male stated that he saw damage to the front end, headlights and grill guard of the other vehicle. There were no injuries. A report was completed.
9:05 AM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that three younger males tried to break in after the business closed the night before. They took down a chain on the north door to the outside entrance. They also smashed a pumpkin. The business had the male subjects and their vehicle on video. After viewing the video, the caller told officers that it looked like the male subjects were just looking to get another beverage after closing time. Nothing was broken and they did not attempt to gain entry. He told officers that he would call them back if any of his employees could identify the male subjects in the video.
11:23 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive off on 10/22/16 of $62.00 in diesel. They gave officers the name of the male subject. The suspect gave the business a credit card number to pay for the fuel, but it was declined. They were unable to reach the male subject to make a payment. Officers were finally able to make contact with the male subject’s fiancée. She told officers that they believed that they had until 9:00 AM on 10/31/16 to get the payment taken care of. Officers advised the female that if the payment was not received, the male subject would be referred for theft. Officers called the business and told them to call on the 10/31 if the fuel was not paid for.
5:10 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that she had called a satellite company to get service. In the process, she had given them her social security number. The company told then her that someone in California was using her social security number. Officers gave the female a report number and all the information for the Federal Trade Commission identity theft hotline. She was also given print outs for social security identity theft information.
Saturday, October 29th
8:09 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Cty. Rd. J in Deerbrook reporting a hit and run. He told officers that last night, an unknown suspect, drove into his yard and damaged the grass and a wishing well decoration. The suspect vehicle left a mirror behind in the yard. Officers followed a coolant trail for a while. The vehicle may have turned east onto Hwy. CC. Some rusty pieces were left behind that appeared to have black paint on them.
1:28 PM Officers received a call from a male on Hwy. 52 in Antigo reporting that last night, someone came on his property and stole gas from a tractor by siphoning it. The tank had been ½ full, now it was empty. The caller believed that it happened last night because his motion light came on around 3:30 AM and 4:30 AM.
11:04 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her daughter had called her screaming that a male subject was hurting her. The caller stated that her daughter was somewhere on Railroad Road. She told officers that the male subject she was with drove a gold Chevy. Dispatch received a second call from a male reporting that he heard screaming at Cty. Rd. E and Cty. Rd. B. When officers arrived, the male subject fled on foot. Officers located and arrested the male subject for resisting arrest, a probation hold, battery and criminal damage to property.
11:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Mark Lane reporting that a black Grand Am pulled into her driveway and kept edging towards the house because the driver couldn’t get the vehicle in park. The male subject then exited the vehicle and fell over on the hood of the car. When he realized that he was at the wrong residence, he got back inside the car and left northbound on Hwy. 45. A female subject had also gotten out of the car and appeared intoxicated. The caller described the male subject as being in his 50’s, wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and had facial hair. Squads were advised. Officers traveled to the Summit Lake area, but were unable to locate the vehicle. A teletype was sent to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office and the Forest County Sheriff’s Office.
Sunday, October 30th
3:24 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his son ran his truck in to White Lake on the sharp curve coming in from N. White Lake Drive. They would meet officers at the scene. A wrecker was called. The male subject was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
Monday, October 31st
4:59 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that sometime between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Sunday, 10/30/16 someone on entered his unlocked vehicle and stole five pairs of uniforms and $300 worth of HVAC tools. There were no suspects. The subject stated that he needed a complaint on file for his employer.
5:34 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. J in Deerbrook reporting an attempted burglary to her home. It appeared that someone tampered with the door trim. Photos were taken. Nothing appeared missing. Someone had tried to pry open the front house door and the garage door. Marks from a tool were found on the front door handle latch mechanism. Officers advised the owner to install deadbolts. There were no suspects.
6:16 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a male subject on Old 26 Road was scammed on the internet. The male subject got a pop up on his computer from “Security Network Access Protection” that required him to pay $299 for three years of protection on his computer. The male subject paid with a check over the phone. The caller gave officers the phone number. When officers called the number, it was a generic Magic Jack number. Officers advised the female caller to have the male subject call his banking institution and turn his computer off. This was a “ransomware” type virus. It will randomly encrypt files on the computer and demand that you pay to get the files unlocked.
Tuesday, November 1st
8:22 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting a one vehicle rollover on Cty Road K, east of Cty. Road U. A male subject was thrown from the vehicle and had serious injuries. The caller had not witnessed the accident. The vehicle was towed. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense. He was not taken into physical custody because of his injuries, a broken neck and broken ribs. An OWI blood search warrant was executed.
