Dennis John Orgeman, 71

Dennis John Orgeman died Friday, November 4, 2016 at Mount View Care Center in Wausau. He was 71 years old.

He was born June 29, 1945 in Antigo, son of the late William and Ione (Haferbecker) Orgeman. He married Shari Legro, and the couple later divorced.

Dennis was a 1963 graduate of Antigo High School, where he was a member of the football team and student council. He was employed as a printer at Clermont Printing, and later worked in sales of office equipment and supplies.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a member of the National Trapping Association, and was a founding member of the Antigo Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Through his work with Trout Unlimited, he was instrumental in establishing the Annual Kids Fishing Day.

Survivors include 2 sons, Thomas (Sonya Hammerberg) Orgeman of Antigo, and Steven Orgeman of Green Bay; 2 grandsons, Noah and Elliott Orgeman of Antigo; 3 brothers, William (Kathy) Orgeman of Green Bay, Robert (Merri Lee) Orgeman of Rhinelander, and Timothy (Peggy) Orgeman of Rhinelander; and his nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hoffmann Gathering Hall at St. John’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church gathering hall. Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery at a later date.

Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
