Dorothy R. Wurtinger, 78
She was born May 15, 1938 in Crandon, a daughter of the late Zach and Leone (Agin) Bailey.
Dorothy was a graduate of Crandon High School.
She married Joseph Kalata on Aug. 7, 1954. The couple divorced in 1958. On Feb. 10, 1962 she married William Wurtinger, Jr. in Crandon. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2006.
Dorothy worked at Happy’s Cafe, Weinbrenner Shoe Company factory, City Cab, and Amron Corporation, retiring May 16, 2000 after 31 years.
She is survived by six children, Sandra (Dennis) Mach of Antigo, John (special friend, Peggy Littleton) Kalata of Antigo, Susan Maierhofer of Antigo, Sally (special friend, Johnny Mullins) Maxon of Crandon, Linda (Kelly) Halbesleben of Antigo and Sam (fiancé, Laura Harvey) Wurtinger
of Antigo; 18 grandchildren, Chad (Kristen) Viergutz, Brent (Kelly) Viergutz, Kimberlee (Chris) Marien, Tiffaney (special friend, Tom Marvin) Kalata, William (Kris) Schey, Emily (fiancé, Maximilian Maierhofer) Schey, Shannon (special friend, John Beyer) Schey, Michael (special friend, Carmen Waukau) Schey II, Randy (Shannon) Maxon, Tabitha (D.J.) Wilson, Courtney Elick, Brittany Elick, Terra (Bill) Tatro, Justin (Jessica) Spencer, Lincoln Spencer, Zack Spencer, Matthew Halbesleben, and Laura Halbesleben; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Bailey and Michael (Carolyn) Bailey, and two sisters, Audrey Zold and Jeannie (special friend, Archie Starks) Childers; two former sons-in-law, Norman Viergutz and Bill Spencer; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tim and Lois Hansen.
In addition to her parents and second husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ranae Maxon, a great-grandson, Nicholas Schey, and two brothers, Jim Evans and Donald Bailey.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Pastor Dick Kendall officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
