FROM THE ANTIGO POLICE DEPARTMENT:

On November 10, 2016 at approximately 6:20 pm, the Antigo Police Department received a 911 call of a 4 y/o male with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Antigo Police Department along with the Langlade County Sheriff Department and EMS responded to the scene.  The 4 y/o was subsequently air lifted to Marshfield where he is currently in the ICU.  We are treating this incident as an accidental shooting.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the little boy and his family.

UPDATED (11/15/16 3:40 pm): The 4-year old boy, Micah Zahringer, is in stable condition at Marshfield following massive blood loss and brain damage. The family has since established a Go Fund Me account to help in Micah’s recovery, with the link available here: https://www.gofundme.com/prayers-for-micah .
