Start of a New Year
The year 2016 was a trying one for the Antigo Police Department. We were faced with two officer involved shootings, the first being in April at the Antigo High School, and a second in July starting downtown and ending in Lincoln County. This may be the first time in department history that our officers responded to, and confronted such occurrences.
It was with continued training, teamwork, pride, and community support that we were able to round out the year and transition into 2017 just as we have in years past. Thank you for all of the cards, letters, and emails you have sent, and support you have showed.
As we all move into 2017, try and challenge yourself this year. Join a club or an organization, help a neighbor in need, volunteer during the Springbrook clean-up, un-plug for a day and look around, pay it forward. It takes all of us to keep this community an honest and safe one and with your help, we can achieve that goal.
As always, in 2017 we will continue to give you our best by being a community oriented, proactive, and approachable Police Department. From all 18 of us that wear the blue, happy New Year.
