Antigo Police & Langlade Co. Sheriff Reports for 1/2/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, December 19th
12:43 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a hit & run accident in their parking lot. One of their employees was pushing a line of carts through the lot and an elderly female driver came around a corner a bit too fast and side-swiped the carts. The vehicle did not stop and left the lot. There was no damage to the carts or anyone else, but the caller was concerned about the female’s driving habits. The caller gave officers the female driver’s license plate number. Officers talked with the female subject. They warned her about her driving habits and told her that if they received any more complaints of that nature, that she would be written up for re-examination.
1:16 PM Officers received a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting a theft of money from a donation box. The caller noticed that morning that the opening to the box was larger and that money was missing. Nothing else was missing. The female caller told officers that she would be changing locks and updating their surveillance cameras. Officers were advised.
3:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she was in an accident in front of an area business at Neva Road and Century Avenue. A voluntary accident report was completed.
4:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Deresch Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed.
5:36 PM Officers received a report of a gray S-10 truck that drove north on S. Hudson Street to 10th Avenue fishtailing all the way. The driver goes through on and off all day long and most of the evening. The caller requested an extra patrol.
Tuesday, December 20th
1:56 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Badger Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
2:49 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that former tenants took some appliances from his rental property on Field Street. They took a washer, dryer and a range and left behind junk in the yard and driveway. Officers were investigating.
4:20 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Pierce Avenue reporting suspicious activity at his residence. He told officers that when he got home, he noticed an outdoor faucet running full blast. His wife did not turn it on. He requested an extra patrol.
4:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a Rottweiler from a house on Arctic Street was loose all of the time and was in his yard. The caller was concerned that it might be mean. Officers were unable to locate the animal.
5:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Sunset Drive reporting that her mailbox was hit and in pieces on the roadway. She believed that it occurred around 5:30 PM. Officers didn’t find any evidence in the area. They talked with neighbors. They did not see anything. The information was put on file.
8:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 6th Avenue reporting that a vehicle hit the Antigo Hotel from Morse Street and then left. The striking vehicle lost control on the corner of Morse Street and 6th Avenue and struck the building. There were no vehicle parts at the scene. Officers photographed the tire tread. The striking vehicle would have front end damage and was leaking antifreeze.
Wednesday, December 21st
1:55 AM Officers were out checking a suspicious vehicle at the fairgrounds on Neva Road. A male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He was also cited for operating a vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content, open intoxicants and illegal dumping.
12:36 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he did not receive the popcorn that he ordered from the Boy Scouts or his money back. Officers were investigating.
3:14 PM Officers responded to a complaint of drug activity on 6th Avenue. Male and female subjects were issued citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
3:31 PM Officers received a call from a female student at the Antigo High School reporting that her vehicle was hit in the parking lot by another female driver. The other driver had backed into the caller’s vehicle. Both vehicles were drivable and there were no injuries. Officers advised the female to come to the Safety Building to complete a voluntary crash report.
4:20 PM Officers cited a female student for disorderly conduct for hitting and punching a male student several times in the hall before school at the Antigo High School. The subjects were told to have no further contact with each other.
4:21 PM Officers cited a male student for theft, for stealing shoes belonging to another male student, out of the locker room at the Antigo High School. The shoes were returned.
4:22 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for threatening a teacher at the Antigo Middle School.
4:25 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for making inappropriate comments during class to other students at the Antigo Middle School.
Thursday, December 22nd
8:50 AM Officers responded to a minor two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Vehicle 2 was eastbound in the parking lot. Vehicle 1 was also eastbound in the lot, angling across the lot. Vehicle 1 struck vehicle 2 in the passenger side front fender causing damage. Vehicle 1 sustained damage to the driver’s side front bumper and fender. There were no injuries.
11:25 AM Officers responded to a report that a vehicle hit a stop sign in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The crash also flattened the driver’s side tire. A state report was filed.
12:47 PM Officers received a report from a male subject that his vehicle was hit while it was parked in the parking lot at Antigo High School on 12/21/16. The striking vehicle was unknown, but white paint was transferred onto the male subject’s vehicle. There was damage to the left rear door. A voluntary accident report was filed.
Friday, December 23rd
2:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
10:56 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 4th Avenue reporting that she could smell marijuana being smoked in the apartment above her. Officers talked with the male subject in the apartment. He admitted to smoking marijuana, just before the officer’s arrival. A citation was issued.
11:53 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report a burglary at his residence on Badger Avenue on 12/20/16 between 12 and 2:30 PM. The male reported to officers that he had come home at 11:30 AM and the house was fine. He then went back to work and returned home at 2:30 PM. The living room was a mess and DVDs were missing. Someone had gone through the house opening things up and throwing things around. Missing from the bathroom cabinets were suboxone, anti-seizure medication and sleeping pills. The male also stated that some of his daughter’s cheaper jewelry was missing. The male subject gave officer the names of a possible male and female suspect. An extra patrol was requested.
5:01 PM Officers responded to a two car accident at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was westbound on 7th Avenue. Vehicle 2 was southbound on Superior Street and was struck by Vehicle 1. The driver of Vehicle 1 said that they did not see Vehicle 2. There were no injuries.
Saturday, December 24th
2:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 8th Avenue reporting that his step daughter was just punched in the face by another girl at an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers referred the female subject to the court for disorderly conduct.
Monday, December 26th
12:03 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that someone was trying to break into her apartment on Lincoln Street. She told officers that her safety alarm on the door had went off. She told officers that she believed a certain male subject was trying to get in, but she did not see him. Officers advised the female to get a restraining order against the male subject.
1:14 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
1:48 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female requesting an ambulance for a male subject that she thought may have gone into diabetic shock. When officers arrived, the male subject was in the driver’s seat of the female’s vehicle. The vehicle was iced over and had not moved for a long time. An ambulance transported the male subject to Langlade Hospital.
3:05 AM Officers were out with a male subject at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. He was arrested for bail jumping and possession of marijuana.
8:25 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a gas drive off that happened on 12/25/16 at 1:25 AM. The customer had not paid for $62.00 in fuel. The business had given the customer until 8-9am on 12/25/16 to come back and pay for the gas. He had given his name to the clerk. The male subject had been driving a blue Ford pickup. Officers discovered that the male subject had been arrested on 12/25/16 around 11 AM on an Oneida County warrant and operating while suspended. The male subject was now referred for theft and bail jumping.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, December 21st
9:04 AM Officers responded to a report of an accident on Hwy. 55. A wrecker was already on the scene. The vehicle was pulled out of the ditch. There was some damage to the vehicle. The driver was a male subject from Elcho.
2:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he slid into a ditch on Langlade Road. There were no injuries. The vehicle was pulled out of the ditch.
3:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she went into the ditch on Hwy. 55 south of Cty. Rd. K.
4:48 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that a vehicle was in the ditch at Cty. Rd S and Hwy. 52. The vehicle was a black Chevy truck. It was covered in snow. The caller told officers that a red pickup truck picked up the driver and drove off south on Cty. Rd. S.
Sunday, December 25th
5:44 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a possibly gray SUV in the ditch on the south side of Hwy. 64, approximately 10 miles west of Antigo. The vehicle struck a tree. The male driver told the caller that he was ok. The caller let the male subject use her phone to call his wife. Officers arrested the male subject for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and he was cited for operating without a license, open intoxicants, failure to report an accident and operating a vehicle with prohibited alcohol content.
Tuesday, December 27th
5:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating without a license, 4th offense and was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
8:03 AM Officers responded to a couple of calls reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 64, west of Roehig Road. There was no one in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. There were drugs and drug paraphernalia found in the vehicle. The license plate number on the vehicle matched a male subject with no valid driver’s license and 2 outstanding warrants for his arrest. 12/27/16 10:53 PM Officers received a call from a female subject asking where the vehicle had been towed to. When officers asked for her name, she hung up. 12/27/16 11:00 PM A male subject called officers wanting to know where the vehicle was towed to. Officers informed him that it would not be released, until he spoke with officers. The male subject told officers that it was his dad’s truck, but the plates on it were his and he was on his way to Antigo to get the truck registered. 12/28/16 3:40 AM The male subject called officers again requesting to get his work keys out of the vehicle. He was told again that he needed to speak with officers in person. He then told officers that he had swerved to miss a deer and was picked up by a buddy. 12/28/16 7:00 AM The male subject called again. He admitted to officers that he had been driving the truck. He again told officers that he had swerved to miss a deer. He admitted that he did not have a driver’s license and that the vehicle was not registered. He also told officers that he knew that there were warrants out for his arrest. When officers informed him of the drugs and drug paraphernalia that they found in the truck, he hung up. The male subject was cited for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia as well as other charges.
10:21 PM Officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Hwy. 55 by Cty. Rd. T. The vehicle was finally stopped on Hwy. 55, just south of Cty. Rd. K. The male driver was issued citations for operating while suspended, suspended registration, operating without a license on his person, no insurance and speeding.
