Winter Wonderland Thru January 1st 5-11pm Holtwood Campground, 400 Holtwood Way, Oconto. It’s time to take in all things twinkly! Each year the Oconto Holtwood Campground gets turned into a Winter Wonderland with over 150 trees decorated and sponsored by area businesses and organizations. The park is lite nightly from 5-11pm. Boys & Girls Club of Langlade County Non-School Days December 27th-30th 7:30am – 5:30pm Boys & Girls Club of Langlade Co., 411 Superior St., Antigo. There is no school on this day, but the club will be open with dynamic programming all day. On Non-school days we serve breakfast from 7:30-8:30 am, lunch from 11:00 am – 12 noon and a snack from 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm. We will be closed on Monday, Jan 2nd. Immunization Clinic December 28th 9am-4pm Langlade County Health Department, 1225 Langlade Road, Antigo. The immunization clinic is available to provide childhood immunizations & adult vaccinations. The vaccinations are FREE to children 2 months – 18 years of age if you have Medical Assistance or no insurance. Adult vaccinations are available some with a minimal fee or FREE if you have MC or MA. Open Skate December 28th 11:30am-1pm Langlade County Hockey Arena, 1633 Neva Road, Antigo. The Antigo Area Youth Hockey Association, in collaboration with the City of Antigo Park & Rec Department, offer FREE open skates throughout the year at the Langlade County Multi-Purpose Building. The Open Skates are FREE with the donation of a canned good. There is a limited supply of skates available for use (these are free, but must be returned at the end of the skate).
Play & Learn December 29th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness and milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages and Stages questionnaires are made available to parents and caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Candlelight Ski December 30th 6-8pm Community Ski Trails, Rhinelander High School, Coolidge Ave., Rhinelander. The Northwoods Nordic Ski Club is sponsoring its annual Candlelight Ski. The trail is of varying lengths and gentle terrain. Mel’s Trading Post will be providing demo skis and equipment. The Rhinelander middle and high school teams and coaches will be present to instruct and assist. A campfire and hot cocoa will greet the skiers. 10th Annual Chill Out December 31st 1pm Thirsty Whale, 428 Park St, Minocqua. Jumpers will plunge into Lake Minocqua to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. Registration begins at 11am. Jump is at 1pm. Pledge forms are available online at nrgnorthwoods.com or they can be picked up at Woodruff Ace Hardware. A $35 minimum pledge is required to take the plunge, but whether you are jumping or just cheering on a jumper, come & show your support for Children’s Miracle Network, & help us help the kids of the north central Wisconsin. STAR Splash At The Happy Snapper January 1st 11:30am The Happy Snapper, 1318 S. Tomahawk Ave., Tomahawk. Take the plunge & raise money for your favorite charity! Since April 2004, the foundation has donated more than $600,000 to local community groups. Registration will be at 11:30am for all the plungers. The plunge will be at 1:30pm with a bonfire to follow.
