Diane Hardt, of Wolf River, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at home under the care of her daughter and son-in-law and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 81 years old. She was born on August 27, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of Walter and Fern (Taylor) Schweikle. She married Douglas Hardt in 1958 in Chicago. He preceded her in death.

Diane was a caring homemaker to her husband and daughters while living in Chicago for many years. She assisted her husband in their family business, Merchantile Stamp and Stencil, which they operated in downtown Chicago.

After raising her family she continued her caring ways by being a caregiver to her daughter, Cindy and neighborhood child for 20 years.

She moved to White Lake in 2014.

Survivors include two daughters, Valery (Chick) Veller, White Lake, Lisa (Paul) Mueller, Green Lake; two grandchildren, Matthew (Margaret) Akins and their daughter Scarlett, Mark (Nadia) Akins and their son Aidan.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Hardt, and a sister, Sandra Garcia.
