Snowmobiles in the city:

Now that the Langlade County snowmobiles trails are open. The Antigo Police Department would like to remind snowmobilers that the City of Antigo does allow snowmobiles on the road in certain circumstances.

Snowmobiles are allowed to travel from a residence or lodging establishments within the city limits. They must use the shortest distance that is necessary for a person to operate a snowmobile to the trail that is closest to that residence or lodging establishment. It is that person’s responsibility to determine the shortest route.

The snowmobile must yield the right of way to other traffic and pedestrians, and such operation is only permitted during the time when the snowmobile tails have officially opened. No operator may be under the age of 16.

The City of Antigo also has an ordinance making it illegal to operate a snowmobile in any parks or cemeteries.
