Antigo Police & Langlade Co. Sheriff Reports for 1/16/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, January 2nd
7:13 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Nantasket Street reporting that a couple of nights earlier at around 5:00 PM, she heard a crash and when she looked, she saw a black Durango parking on the other side of the parking lot. A female driver got out and looked at some damage on the Durango and then on a white Dodge Stratus that she must have hit. The caller did not say anything at the time because she thought that Stratus belonged to the tenants in the same apartment as the Durango. That morning, the caller had a note on her door about the incident. The caller was accused of hitting the Stratus because of some damage that she had on her vehicle that they thought matched the Dodge Stratus. The reporting female wanted officers to know that she did not hit the Dodge Stratus. Officers looked at the vehicles. The Dodge Stratus had damage to the side rear taillight and the back bumper. It did not match the damage on the reporting female’s vehicle.
12:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Wausau Road reporting that his neighbor’s dogs were running in his yard again. The dog owner was cited for having a pit bull in the city and was warned for having dogs at large.
3:05 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that they had a counterfeit $10 bill. Officers picked up the bill and placed it into evidence. The business owner would be getting officers the surveillance video.
4:04 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his 2015 Subaru LX was hit while parked at an area business on Neva Road. The male caller told officers that he did see a white Blazer leaving the parking lot. Officers stopped the suspected vehicle at 1st Avenue and Superior Street.
4:09 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a citation for operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related.
8:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
Tuesday, January 3rd
1:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and operating with no proof of insurance.
12:54 PM Officers received a call from a female on Nantasket Street reporting a hit and run in the parking lot of her apartment building. The caller told officers that she thought that a plow truck hit her car while it was plowing. Officers were investigating.
11:03 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that there was a bicycle on the west side of the building. It did not belong to any of the employees. The caller thought that the bicycle was a 10 speed. She did not know how long it had been there. Officers took the bike to the impound.
Wednesday, January 4th
1:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on S. Superior Street. The driver was cited for operating after suspension.
11:17 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male shoplifter. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
1:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that another male subject hit his vehicle while it was parked in front of his residence on Arctic Street. A state report was filed.
1:39 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at an area business on 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for an illegal left turn. An educational pamphlet was issued.
1:40 PM A male subject reported to officers that a saw was taken from the back of his pickup truck since the last time he used it, which was about a week before Christmas. He was not sure when or where it was taken. He gave officers the names of some area businesses that he had visited recently.
9:48 PM A female subject reported to officers that a temporary plate on the outside window of her vehicle was stolen on Nantasket Street. The plate was entered as missing. The female subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Friday, January 6th
5:13 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was issued a 7 day correction for an expired registration.
2:08 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting two male juvenile shoplifters in custody. The two male subjects were cited for retail theft.
8:09 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Lincoln Street reporting a barking dog at her house. She was unsure of the exact location of the dog. Officers spoke with the dog’s owner. They advised them of the complaint.
Saturday, January 7th
12:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Aurora Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was issued warnings for a brake light and for speed.
1:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Arctic Street. The female driver was issued a 7 day warning for an expired plate and was cited for operating without insurance.
1:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for a defective headlamp.
12:29 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a female adult shoplifter. The female subject admitted to officers that she had taken several fishing lures, put them in her purse and left the store without paying for them. The female subject was cited for retail theft and released.
3:47 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male juvenile that was detained for shoplifting. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
9:05 PM Officers arrested a male subject on Deliglise Street on a Langlade County warrant for Failure to Pay a Fine for Underage Alcohol. He was transported to Corrections.
10:46 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The driver was referred for operating after revocation.
10:57 PM Officers responded to information that a male subject was at an area business on Edison Street and was drinking underage. Officers found the male subject outside the area business, near the rear entrance. Employees at the business told officers that they did not serve the male subject. The male subject was cited for underage alcohol.
11:04 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a black Cadillac Escalade, pulling a snowmobile trailer with no plates that tailgated the caller with its bright lights on while northbound on Hwy. 45 from Birnamwood. The vehicle was then parked at an area business on S. Superior Street. The caller requested that officers speak with the driver. Officers advised the male driver of the complaint.
Sunday, January 8th
1:16 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone struck the stoplight at Hwy. 45 and Hwy. 64 and the pole was down in the roadway. The Department of Public Works was contacted. No paint transfer was found. The striking vehicle would have front end damage and possibly roof damage. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
11:33 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they just received two counterfeit $20 bills. The caller told officers that the person had just left going southbound on foot, wearing all black, and having a reddish beard. The bills were logged into evidence. Officers advised the business to contact them if the subject returned.
12:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on 4th Avenue reporting that his gray 2002 Chevy Trailblazer was stolen. It was last seen two days earlier. Officers found out that the vehicle had been towed. The owner was advised to stop at the Safety Building.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, January 5th
12:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he slid into the ditch on Cty. Rd. T with his Ford Ranger pickup. The male subject did not see any damage, but said that there may have been damage to the undercarriage or motor.
2:51 PM Officers arrested a female subject on Langlade Road for two Langlade County warrants for failure to pay fine for operating while suspended and registration. She was transported to Corrections.
Saturday, January 7th
12:34 PM Officers were out with a male subject on a snowmobile. The male driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
1:10 PM Officers were out with two male subjects on snowmobiles at Cty. Rd. K and White Tail Lane. The two male drivers were cited for failure to provide a safety certificate.
2:09 PM Officers responded to a report of a male subject injured in a snowmobile accident off of Cty. Rd. G. The male subject from New London had a possible broken arm.
Monday, January 9th
7:15 AM Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a semi-truck vs. truck accident on Hwy. 55, south of Lily. An ambulance was needed. The Department of Transportation was notified. Hwy. 55 was shut down for removal of the log truck.
Tuesday, January 10th
7:21 AM Officers responded to a call reporting a car in the ditch on Clermont Street. Officers left a message with the vehicle owner. The vehicle was off the road. There did not appear to be any damage.
7:40 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a car in the ditch at Hwy. 45 and Mapleview Road. There was no damage. The vehicle was towed.
7:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was run off the road by a plow truck at Forest Road and Hwy. 45. He was in a truck with an enclosed trailer attached. He told officers that he had pulled off the road to avoid being struck. He reported damage to the steering system in the truck as a result of attempts to get it out of the ditch. Officers talked to the plow driver for the township. He told officers that it was unnecessary for the male subject to pull his truck and trailer off of the road when they met. The plow driver told officers that he had seen that the male subject’s attempts to then get out of the ditch only ended up putting him farther into the ditch. No action was taken against either driver. There was no crash damage. No crash report was filed.
Wednesday, January 11th
5:05 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he saw a plow truck tipped on its side in the west ditch on Hwy. 55 north of Wolf Road. The caller stated that no one was in the truck. The vehicle was towed.
