Bob and Georgine resided in Denver, Co and Monte Vista, CO before moving to Antigo, WI in 1956 making this their permanent home. They are the parents of seven children. Following the entry of their youngest child into elementary school, Georgine worked as a substitute teacher and then for many years as a teacher’s assistant spending most of her work years with special education students. She liked her job and the students and staff she worked with. She lived for 57 years in the same house in Antigo before moving to her Pine Meadows apartment where she enjoyed meeting new people and participating in their activities.
Georgine was devoted to Faith United Church of Christ and its members. She was a Sunday School teacher and kitchen worker, and a member of Women of Faith, First Friday group, the Bible Study class and a former church food pantry volunteer. Georgine was an active person. She loved walking the Ice Age trails, swimming at Jack Lake and the Antigo pool, biking the streets of Antigo and the back roads of the county and skiing at Kettlebowl. Georgine was a life long learner as she enjoyed attending educational lectures and programs, being a member of Homemakers, and researching any topic from looking up noxious weeds to studying for her many travels. She spent many summers in Northern Wisconsin working on archeological digs. Georgine was a great supporter of Antigo activities including Antigo sports, school music and theater programs, Civic Music Association and any Antigo parade! Georgine was a thoughtful person always sending cards out to people, making a tasty treat for someone or sharing her time with others. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family and friends, sewing and reading.
Her children proclaim her a wonderful mother, as she was so very loving. She encouraged us to be kind to others, get a good education and promoted our independence.
