Peace Lutheran School intends to participate in the statewide Wisconsin Parental Choice Program
For the Antigo Times
Peace Lutheran School is excited to announce that we intend to participate in the newly expanded statewide Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP). The WPCP allows students throughout the State of Wisconsin to attend private and religious schools tuition-free through a voucher provided by the state.
This new program allows even more families in Antigo to access the outstanding educational program at Peace Lutheran School, especially those families who in the past could not afford to attend. Students applying to participate in the WPCP could be attending Peace Lutheran School as soon as this coming fall.
“We are enthusiastically opening our doors to the new school choice program,” David Reineke, School Administrator of Peace Lutheran School said. “Many parents in our community have shown interest in attending our school. This new program will now make that connection possible.”
Peace Lutheran School will be accepting applications in grades 4K-8 for parents who wish to enroll their children at the school through the WPCP. Applications open February 1-April 20 for the 2017-18 school year and can be submitted online at http://sms.dpi.wi.gov/wpcp-statewide.
The program currently is limited to those families with incomes below 185% of the federal poverty level. In 2017-18, participation will be limited to no more than 2% of students from the Unified School District of Antigo.
Peace Lutheran School is planning an Open House on February 2 from 2:00p—6:00p & March 6 from 6:00p—8:00p at Peace Lutheran in the Library. Plan to bring information you need to verify your 2016 income and make sure you have an email account set up.
Interested parents should call the school office at 715-623-2200 for additional information.
