ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, February 6th
3:34 PM Officers received a call from male subject on 8th Avenue reporting that over the past few days, two African American females had been walking back & forth with a cart in the road by his house. On that day, only one female was walking by with a cart. The caller noticed that she was then picked up by a white van. Officers advised the caller to call them back if they were in the area again.
8:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was cited for speed.
Tuesday, February 7th
12:22 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a female shoplifter. They told officers that the female subject had taken an item and was getting into a blue Dodge Caravan heading out of the parking lot on Hwy. 64. The driver was a thin female and the passenger was a larger female. The vehicle went across the road into the parking lot of another area business. Officers stopped and questioned the female suspect. She denied taking the item and officers did not find the item on her. The business was sending a video of the incident to officers.
3:27 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 5th Avenue reporting that a male subject had stolen a bottle of alcohol. Officers identified the male subject and found him with the bottle in his possession. He was cited for retail theft.
3:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that there was a male subject dressed like a clown in an alley between 7th and 8th Avenues, behind a red truck, trying to get boys to come over to him. Officers were unable to locate the male subject.
6:16 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating without a license.
7:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that another vehicle hit her vehicle in the alley behind her residence on Dorr Street. Vehicle 1 was parked. Vehicle 2 was northbound on 9th Avenue and pulled into the alleyway. The driver went to hit the brake, but hit the gas instead and collided with Vehicle 1. Three people were injured. One vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
7:54 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he hit a parked car on 5th Avenue with his snowmobile. The caller told officers that the passenger on his snowmobile had a leg injury.
9:07 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was cited for speed and was warned for a defective taillight.
10:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
Wednesday, February 8th
12:13 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance and was given a written warning for a defective headlight.
12:46 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Milton Street and Superior Street. The driver was cited for no insurance.
10:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Clermont Street and Graham Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt.
10:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. There were three subjects in the vehicle. All three were issued citations for failure to wear a seatbelt.
11:28 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The driver was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt.
11:41 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was issued a citation for failure to wear a seatbelt.
11:50 AM Officers received a complaint from an area business on Hwy. 64 that someone has been defecating behind the building. The caller told officers that since the fall, someone has been going behind the dumpster and relieving themselves. It appeared that they had been bringing their own toilet paper. The business requested an extra patrol.
12:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
12:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
12:48 PM Officers cited a male subject from Elcho for theft of library materials.
12:50 PM Officers cited a female subject from Pelican Lake for the theft of library materials.
3:36 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Superior Street. The subjects in the vehicle were issued citations for failure to wear a seatbelt.
3:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The driver was cited for an expired registration.
3:59 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Birch Street. The driver was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
4:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 3rd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
Thursday, February 9th
8:23 AM Officers responded to a call from Langlade Hospital reporting a possible overdose by a male subject that was there visiting someone else. The male subject initially said that he had simply fallen, but he was visually impaired and drug paraphernalia was found. After being medically cleared, a probation hold was authorized and other charges were pending.
11:58 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a minor accident in their parking lot. The driver of one of the vehicles was cited for no insurance. A report was filed.
3:25 PM Officers cited a male subject for retail theft at an area business on Hwy. 64.
11:35 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Freiburger Avenue. The driver was arrested on a Langlade County warrant for failure to pay a fine on possession of marijuana.
Friday, February 10th
12:31 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a female subject tried to use a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for some items. The incident had occurred on 2/7/17 at 2:50 PM. Officers were investigating.
3:40 PM Officers responded to a call from a mailman who told officers that he had found $11 in the snow in front of a house on 3rd Avenue. He knocked on the door to see if the resident had lost the money and when the male subject answered the door, he was all bloody. Officers checked with the male subject. He told officers that he had fallen on the ice the day before.
6:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Willard Avenue and Clermont Street. The male driver was cited for operating without a valid driver’s license.
11:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The male driver was given a written warning for speed.
Saturday, February 11th
12:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Century Avenue and Clermont Street. The female driver was given a 10 day correction notice for an expired registration.
12:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Morse Street. The female driver was given a correction notice for a defective headlamp.
12:49 AM Officers were at an area business on Edison Street with a fight. One male subject was cited for disorderly conduct.
12:51 AM Officers received a call from a male on Weed Street reporting that his cigarettes and some food were missing from his residence. Another male subject had been staying at the residence that the caller only knew by his first name. When the caller confronted this male subject about the missing items, he left on foot. Officers advised the male caller to contact them, if the male subject returned.
2:40 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The female driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
2:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was given a warning for operating after suspension.
10:52 AM Officers received a call from a male subject on Clermont Street reporting that he had received some suspicious letters at his home and his workplace. He wanted officers to be aware of the letters.
12:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Century Avenue and Hogan Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:11 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Pine Street. The driver was given a written warning for unsafe backing.
6:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Sunday, February 12th
2:41 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was assaulted and pushed down by another male subject in the parking lot of an area business on 5th Avenue. He did not know the other male subject’s name. The caller told officers that he and some others were playing a game and a disagreement occurred. Several people then got involved in a fight. Another male subject that officers talked to had been knocked to the floor and kicked. Officers took this male subject to Langlade Hospital to get checked out. Officers talked to several other patrons. No one wanted to press charges.
9:19 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that some time the night before, someone bent over a parking sign in a parking area at Edison Street and 4th Avenue and damaged his vehicle. The caller’s Buick Cutlass had slight scratches on the front passenger side door.
11:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Ackley Street. The driver was given a warning for an expired registration.
3:04 PM Officers received a call from a passerby who noticed that a white Dodge Ram truck was dumping garbage in the dumpster of an area business on Hwy. 64. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
11:36 PM Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated male subject who was walking northbound on Superior Street. The male subject was staggering & holding onto objects. The subject was described as wearing a hat and a dark coat. Officers were out with the male subject on 2nd Avenue. Officers gave him a ride to his residence on Arctic Street.
Monday, February 13th
5:08 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Langlade Road and 2nd Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
5:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Milton Street. The driver was issued a 10 day written correction for registration.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, February 8th
9:36 PM Officers came upon a vehicle in the ditch at Cty. Rd. A, north of Schmidt Road. There was damage to a Wisconsin Public Service pole. A tow truck and WPS were called. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 4th offense and operating after revocation.
11:07 PM Wisconsin Public Service advised officers of a vehicle tipped over on Cty. Rd. A, between Hwy. 52 and Hwy. 55. It was a black GMC pickup truck. The female driver was involved in the one vehicle rollover due to extremely icy roads. There were no injuries. The truck was towed. A state report was completed.
Thursday, February 9th
12:23 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting a computer scam. She told officers that she received a call that morning from a male subject telling her that she had something wrong with her computer. The female told the male subject that she did not have a computer. Later in the day, the caller got a call from a female subject in Connecticut asking her if she had called her. (The subject in Connecticut had also been getting computer calls.) The female caller told officers that she also received another call from another subject that day. Officers informed the female caller that the scammers were using her phone number and they gave the caller the number for the Frontier Nuisance call line.
3:33 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy. 64. There was no road blockage and there were no injuries. A state report was filed.
Friday, February 10th
11:59 AM Officers responded to a report of a logging truck that lost his load at Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. S. There was minimal lane blockage.
7:49 PM Officers responded to a report of a truck versus snowmobile accident two miles east of Post Lake, just onto the snowmobile trail. The vehicle came off of the roadway, onto the trail and struck the snowmobile. An injured party was up and walking around. The vehicle was towed.
8:12 PM While responding to another call, a male driver failed to yield to officers who had emergency lights and sirens activated at Cty. Rd. K and Luther Lane. The male driver had plenty of areas where it was safe to pull over. Officers spoke with the male driver at the scene of the crash, as he was responding to the crash for the Elcho Fire Department. He had not been driving an emergency vehicle. The driver told officers that he had been unsure what to do. The male subject was sternly warned for his driving habits by officers. He was given a written warning for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
Saturday, February 11th
9:06 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. V. The male driver was arrested for operating without a valid driver’s license and was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt. Two passengers were also cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
Sunday, February 12th
5:42 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Birch Road. The female driver was arrested for operating without a valid driver’s license, 2nd offense and was transported to Corrections. Her vehicle was towed.
9:27 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he slid into the ditch at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. I. He was driving a pickup truck with a trailer. The truck was towed. There was damage to the front of the trailer.
12:43 PM Officers responded to a call from OnStar reporting a car versus tree accident at Hwy. 55 and W. Rollingstone Drive. The female driver told officers that she was driving south on Hwy. 55 at about 55-60MPH when a tree fell on the front end of her car.
1:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he went into the ditch on Cty. Rd. A, west of Cty. Rd. V. The vehicle was on its side.
2:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject from Watertown reporting that his car was in the ditch on Cty. Rd. C about ¾ of a mile west of Cty. Rd. B. His daughter had been driving. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed.
3:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject from Oconomowoc reporting that his vehicle was in the ditch just north of Hwy. 64 on Hwy. 55. The vehicle was towed.
Tuesday, February 14th
11:24 AM Officers were making a traffic stop and pulled into a driveway behind a vehicle at an address on Hwy. 45. The male driver of the vehicle then accidentally backed into the squad car. When the squad car was struck, the emergency lights were activated. The male subject told officers that he did not see them behind him while he was turning around in the driveway to go back to town. The male subject had no insurance. There was damage to both vehicles. The male driver was cited for operating after revocation, 1st offense (operating while intoxicated related). He was also cited for inattentive driving.
