For the Antigo Times

The next meeting of the Langlade County Senior Club is Tuesday February 14, 2017 from 1:30pm to 3pm. We meet at the Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont Street, Antigo, in the meeting room off the main hallway.

Members are requested to bring a Valentine to be shared with another member. Please be prepared to pay your 2017 dues.

Our meeting opens for some general discussion of any member’s previous months activities; any illness’s of members; and recognizes those who have grown one year older. We then hold a door prize drawing for 10 lucky winners as well as play some light hearted bingo. Please call Doug at 715-623-2253, if you have any questions.

Our January meeting was cancelled because of a snowstorm.

Doug Curler, under his December president’s report, listed these items that were discussed: (a) made comment of the Alliance for Retired Americans Friday Alerts calling out the appointments of the next administration are for and will propose to voucherize Medicare in fall of 2017 and privatizing Social Security. (b) The ADRC is still in need of a few more volunteers to be Community Representatives giving feedback on the activities of the ADRC. (c) Announced there will be no March 2017 meeting because the library gave away our timeframe. (d) Called for the yearly elections of President, Treasurer and Secretary.

Check us out and please bring your ideas for club activities, which are not only important to seniors but for the betterment of our community. Our procedure is to allow any first time attendee to enjoy taking part in our door prize drawing and bingo. Upon their return at another meeting we would hope they would join.
