Marian Royce, 92
Marian Royce, of Pleasant Prairie, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her daughter’s home under the care of hospice. She was 92 years old. She was born on June 30, 1924 in Wausau, a daughter of the late John A. and Jennie (Wojtkiewicz) Kondzela. She married William Dearl Royce on September 29, 1945 in White Lake. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She attended Elton Grade School and graduated from White Lake High School.
Marian worked for years at Warwick in Zion, Ill, Compacted Metals of Waukegan, Ill and retired from Andersson Tool and Die of Zion in 2000.
She loved cooking and gardening. Marian was a sensitive, caring and devoted mother and grandmother. She was deeply loved by her family and friends.
Survivors include five children, Bill (Judy) Royce of Kenosha, Bob (Paula) Royce of Elkhorn, Patti Reid of Richmond, Mich., Sue (Jim) Pogue of Winthrop Harbor, Ill, and Dan Royce of Kenosha; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn Hunter of Antigo; two brothers, Jack (Beth) Kondzela of The Villages, Fl and Jim (Darlene) Kondzela of Antigo; step sisters, Beth Wagner of Deerbook and Merdi (John) Sotiros of Janesville.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Royce; step mother, Josephine Zondzela; son-in-law, Dave Reid; infant sister, Bernice Kondzela; brother, Lawrence Kondzela; brother-in-law, Patrick Hunter; step brother, Bill Mattek; and step brother-in-law, Arnie Wagner.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 7 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall. Visitation is also scheduled for Sunday, February 5 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home in Zion.
