Mary A. Hetzel, 66, Birnamwood, died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Cloverleaf Terrace under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice.
She was born on April 11, 1950 in Wausau, the daughter of the late Myles and Ella (Brumm) Hetzel.
Mary worked the lumber mill in Birnamwood for 17 years. She then was employed at Connor’s, Wausau for 10 years and was custodian for the Birnamwood Elementary School for 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Mary enjoyed spending summers at her camper on Mayflower Lake, Birnamwood. She also enjoyed interacting with the children at the elementary school.
Mary is survived by her son, Jason (Leah) Hetzel; two step-granddaughters, Cassidy & Joei; brothers and sisters, Judith (Jerry) Kautza, Norbert (Susan) Hetzel, Linda (Tom) Muraski, Melvin ‘Bucky’ (Jayne) Hetzel and Jim Hetzel, along with many nieces & nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three brothers, Fritz, John and Ron and one sister, Evelyn VanEss.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Matthew Christians will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Birnamwood. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9am until the time of service at the church.
