Mary Messer, 81
Mary Minerva Messer, age 81, of Antigo, died Monday, January 30, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital.
Mary was born on July 8, 1935 in Elton to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Bailey) Robinson.
She was united in marriage to Richard Messer August 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1996. Mary and Richard lived and raised their family in Kenosha until returning to Langlade County in 1978.
Mary was a devoted homemaker. She loved God, her church and her family. She was a member of New Life Church.
She enjoyed the adventures that nature offered her, horseback riding, being in the woods, swimming, fishing, birds and gardening. She was fond of her pets, both dogs and cats. In recent years she took an interest in painting and especially liked painting birds and flowers. She enjoyed all types of music, good food, and celebrations with family and friends.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Ardith (Ervin) Messer of Antigo, Reneé Messer of Antigo, 2 sons, Richard Scott Messer of Antigo, Michael (Julaine) Messer of Antigo, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Glenna Robinson of White Lake, Gail Lewis of Elton, and Karen (Edward) Sellers of White Lake.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Geneva, Barbara, Ardith, Carol, Raeburn, 5 brothers, Orville, William, Larry, Ralph and Wayne.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon at New Life Church. Ardith and Michael will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until the service Saturday at the church. Interment will be in Elton Cemetery.
