Rosalba Baseley, 90
Rosalba Baseley, of Baraboo, formerly of Antigo died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. She was 90 years old. She was born on August 12, 1926 in Antigo, a daughter of Henry and Helen (Weeks) Drage. She married Alvin Baseley in 1946. He preceded her in death in 2005.
She graduated from Antigo High School as valedictorian of the class of 1944.
As a young lady she worked as an accountant in Antigo and as secretary at Glowens Department Store. In 1961 she and her husband purchased a Dairy Queen in Lincolnwood, IL. They operated the business for 24 years.
In 1986 she moved to Crystal River, Florida where she enjoyed retirement. She returned to Wisconsin in 2005 and has been a resident of Baraboo the last 5 years.
She will be remembered as a good cook and enjoyed surfing the web, cutting and trading coupons and feeding her birds.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye (Michael) Stevens of York, South Carolina, Janet (Jerry) Thurman of West Bend; a son, Wayne Baseley of Baraboo; five sisters, Marie Napier of Crystal River, Florida, Harriett Jacobs of Millbrook, Alabama, Marge (Jim) Putnam of Sebree, Kentucky, Helen and Joan Drage of Phlox; two brothers, Henry (Carol) Drage of ElCajon, California, James Drage of Nevada; five grandchildren eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sons David and Gary Baseley.
A funeral service will be held on Friday February 24, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday from 12 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
