Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 3/6/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, February 20th
10:31 AM Officers responded to a report of a truck and a trailer parked on the corner by Dinomite Lake, about one mile east of Town Line Lake, blocking the roadway. Officers were unable to locate the owners, so a towing company was contacted. The vehicle owner did move the vehicle.
11:55 AM Officers received a call from a male on Western Avenue reporting that several vehicles from the high school do not stop at the stop sign at 1st Avenue and Western Avenue. The caller gave officers the license plate number one vehicle that he considered the most dangerous. He requested that officers talk to these subjects about their dangerous driving. Offices were informed.
3:02 PM Officers responded to a report of a small, silver 4 door car driving extremely fast and with a very loud exhaust in the area of S. Hudson Street and Freiburger Avenue. The caller told officers that the vehicle goes to a house on S. Hudson Street. The caller described the driver as an African American male subject. Officers talked with the male subject. He denied that he was driving the vehicle. He told officers that a female was driving the vehicle. This did not match the witnesses’ statement.
3:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a female, calling on behalf of a male subject on Dorr Street, reporting that his wallet was stolen. It occurred sometime the night before. Two other subjects were in his apartment the night before, and this morning he noticed that his wallet was missing. Officers attempted to make contact with the other two subjects.
Tuesday, February 21st
9:04 AM Officers responded to a call from the building manager of an area building on 5th Avenue reporting that they found used needles by the dumpster. Officers disposed of the five empty needles.
12:41 PM Officers sent a letter to a female subject on Clermont Street for an abatement issue regarding the removal of a couch near the curb.
12:41 PM Officers sent a letter to a female subject on S. Lincoln Street for an abatement issue regarding the removal of a chair near the curb.
2:41 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Elm Street reporting the theft of several items from his residence. Some of the items included a cellphone, CDs, DVDs, a camera, gaming equipment and games, a guitar, several knives, tattooing equipment and Ruger rifle. He told officers that the items had been there when he went to bed the night before. The caller gave officers the names of some possible suspects.
2:54 PM A male student was referred for possession of marijuana at Antigo High School.
3:11 PM Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident at an area business on 6th Avenue. The caller told officers that they were in the business and when they came out they saw that their vehicle had been sideswiped and no one was around. Officers identified a male subject from Elcho as the person that struck the vehicle. He was cited for having no insurance and for hit and run.
3:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 2nd Avenue reporting that a bottle of her son’s prescription medication was stolen from her home. She told officers that she last saw the medication around 6:30 PM, the night before. Officers arrested a male subject on two counts of felony bail jumping.
3:51 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Amron Avenue. The driver was warned for display of power.
5:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Nantasket Street reporting that she just took a knife and an axe from some six year old boys. She told officers that the boys were going after her daughter and her friend with the items. Officers identified the items as a limb saw and a small hatchet. The two juvenile male subjects were talked to about their inappropriate behavior. Officers also talked with the adults that were supposed to be supervising the two juvenile males.
Wednesday, February 22nd
7:46 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Sunset Drive. The driver was cited for speed. An education pamphlet was distributed.
2:56 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that two suspicious, younger adult male subjects were pushing a stroller, at Deleglise Street and 5th Avenue, that contained 2 large duffle bags. The caller told officers that the stroller tipped over at one point. Then a metallic, lighter colored Blazer stopped and picked the male subjects up. The caller told officers that the duffle bags must have been heavy, since it took two people to carry them. Officers were advised.
3:28 PM Officers received a call from a male on E. Towne Drive reporting that a burgundy Grand Prix went speeding by his house. He told officers that he did not get a license plate number and he didn’t know who the driver was. He described the driver as a male subject with shaggy blonde hair. There was also a female passenger. Officers were advised.
4:18 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on Superior Street reporting identity theft by credit card. Officers were investigating.
4:28 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to turn in a laptop that he found in his yard on Superior Street. He told officers that it was not there the day before. The laptop was badly damaged.
Thursday, February 23rd
2:35 AM Officers stopped a vehicle behind a building on 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating after suspension.
10:50 AM Officers responded to a report that there were piles of garbage and junk vehicles at a residence on Virginia Street. Officers sent an abatement letter to the resident at the address for the removal of the items. The city inspector was notified. Photos were taken.
1:25 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her husband backed into another vehicle at an area business on 6th Avenue. It was a very minor accident. A report was filed.
6:22 PM Officers arrested a female subject on 2nd Avenue on two Langlade County warrants for failure to appear on the charge of operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and failure to appear on the charge of operating with a restricted controlled substance. Officers transported the female subject to Corrections.
10:32 PM Officers were out at an area business on Edison Street. They cited a male subject from Mattoon for urinating in public.
10:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a suspicious vehicle just went behind some buildings on Dorr Street and shut their lights off. Officers arrested a male subject on a Langlade County warrant for failure to pay a fine for disorderly conduct.
Friday, February 24th
12:21 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cedar Street and S. Superior Street. The female driver was cited for failure to fasten a seatbelt and was given a 5 day correction for an expired registration. The male passenger was cited for failure to fasten a seatbelt.
12:40 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at an area business on S. Superior Street. Officers noted that the plate was suspended for unpaid parking tickets from the Green Bay police department. Officers arrested a female subject on a Brown County warrant for shoplifting and they arrested another male subject on a probation hold for violation of a no drink policy.
11:56 AM Officers responded to a report of an accident at Neva Road and Century Avenue. There were no injuries. One male driver was cited for driving too fast for conditions. He was given an educational pamphlet.
7:09 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report that a male subject on probation had cut off his ankle bracelet. There was also a possible disturbance occurring on Superior Street. The male subject was taken into custody on a probation warrant. A female subject was also taken to jail on a Langlade County warrant.
Saturday, February 25th
2:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Edison Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and was warned for operating a vehicle without headlights or taillights.
8:13 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Edison Street reporting criminal damage to her vehicle. She told officers that someone punctured her tire. Officers were investigating.
1:16 PM Officers cited a female student with disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred at Antigo High School. The female subject went into a classroom, while class was in session, and was yelling and swearing at another student. The two subjects had to be separated and the female subject was escorted from the classroom.
2:42 PM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident at 10th Avenue and Morse Street. The male driver from Antigo struck the male pedestrian. There were no injuries to the pedestrian.
6:37 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting an intoxicated male, knocking items off of shelves. Officers arrested the male subject on a disorderly conduct hold for violating a no drink policy.
7:27 PM Officers were out with a subject at an area business on S. Superior Street. Officers arrested the subject for operating after revocation – operating while intoxicated related and bail jumping.
7:44 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Freiburger Avenue and S. Park Street. The driver was cited for operating after suspension.
8:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at E. 5th Avenue and Park Street. The driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
9:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at E. 5th Avenue and Park Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and was given a written warning for not carrying a driver’s license. A traffic education class was offered.
9:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at E. 5th Avenue and Park Street. The driver was issued citations for failure to stop at a stop sign, no proof of insurance and was warned for issues with their muffler and windshield. A traffic education class was offered.
10:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at E. 5th Avenue and Park Street. The driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. A traffic education class was offered.
Sunday, February 26th
2:04 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that there was a female subject in the business that had been banned from all area locations of that business, for stealing from the Rhinelander location. Officers advised the female subject that she was not to return to any locations of that business. If she were to return, she would be cited for trespassing.
5:57 PM Officers responded to a report that a residence on Virginia Street had 10 bags of garbage on the curb. Officers informed the residents that the garbage must be removed by the next day.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Friday, February 24th
1:22 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of the highway department reporting that they came upon a rollover accident on Hwy. 45 between Cty. Hwy. J and Cty. Hwy. V, on the west side of the road. The caller told officers that there did not appear to be anyone in the vehicle. Dispatch then received another call reporting that the female driver was sitting in a truck by the accident. The vehicle was towed. A state report was filed.
7:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a car in the ditch with damage two miles south of Elcho on Cty. Rd. B, near Hwy. 45. They told officers that a tow truck was on the way. A stop sign had been struck. The highway department was notified. An accident report was filed.
11:26 PM Officers received a call from a female subject from Summit Lake reporting that she slid in the ditch on Cty. Rd. B. There were no injuries and no damage. She told officers that the vehicle would be removed in the morning.
Saturday, February 25th
4:16 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a vehicle was parked in the middle of Cty. Rd. H, near Wetzel Lane. The caller told officers that a female subject was slumped over the wheel and was not responding. He also told officers that the vehicle was in drive and all of the doors were locked. Officers arrested the female subject from Gleason for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
4:38 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that an SUV slid into the ditch on Hwy. 64, approximately 4 miles east of Langlade. There were two men standing by the vehicle. They had asked the caller if he had a tow strap, which he did not. The male driver was not intoxicated. The vehicle was towed. Officers gave the subjects a ride.
12:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she went into the ditch at Cty. Rd. S and Riverside Road. A wrecker was not needed.
6:01 PM Officers responded to a call from OnStar reporting a two car accident at Hwy. 64 and Firelane Road. There were no injuries. Both vehicles were towed.
10:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a vehicle deep in the ditch on Cty. Rd. K, between Cty. Rd. U and Sunset Road, outside of Elcho. The caller told officers that there appeared to be someone in the vehicle. A state report was filed.
Sunday, February 26th
7:39 AM Officers responded to a call from a passerby reporting an accident on Mapleview Road. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed.
Monday, February 27th
7:46 AM Officers responded to a call reporting a two car accident on Forest Road in Deerbrook. The caller told officers that they hit a backhoe in the roadway. By the time officers arrived on the scene, it was a three vehicle accident.
11:46 AM Officers responded to a report of a two car accident at Cty. Rd. HH and Cty. Rd. G. Both vehicles were towed.
Tuesday, February 28th
7:49 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that there was Camaro in the ditch, on its side, about 1 ½ miles south of Hwy. 47 on Sugar Bush Road. The caller told officers that there were two subjects there, a female subject wearing a white coat and a male subject in a camo coat that appeared about 30 years old. Officers found the spot where the vehicle went into the ditch. The vehicle was gone upon the officers arrival.
9:48 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. A reporting that two younger male subjects, one with blonde bushy hair and another male subject that was tall, came to her door and wanted to use the phone. She told them no. The male subjects told her that their car was in the ditch. Dispatch received a second call from a male on Chillie Road reporting that a male subject came to his house reporting an accident. While officers were enroute, dispatch received a 911 call from another male stating that one male was bloody and confused and didn’t know about the other two subjects in the vehicle. The officers were updated and the Antigo Fire Department was dispatched. The male driver of the vehicle told officers that he “blanked out” while driving eastbound on Cty. Rd. A. The vehicle left the road and struck several trees before coming to a stop. He admitted to officers that he had been smoking marijuana with the other occupants of the vehicle about one hour before the crash. Two male subjects were transported to Langlade Hospital for medical treatment. The male driver was cited for operating without insurance, failure to maintain control, failure to report an accident, operating left of center, inattentive driving and license not on person. Charges were also referred to the district attorney’s office for operating with a restricted controlled substance, and knowingly operating while suspended causing great bodily harm.
Wednesday, March 1
7:43 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Cty. Rd. H ¼ mile west of Cty. Rd. N. Officers were told that someone was in the vehicle. A local towing company also contacted officers to let them know that they had been contacted for a tow.
10:42 AM Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting a car versus semi accident at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. D. Airbags had been deployed. The car was towed.
11:24 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he rolled his truck on Cty. Rd. U north of Fitzgerald Dam Road. He told officers that he was not injured. The vehicle was towed.
