Arlyne Penny Marie Oatman, 95

Arlyne Marie “Penny” Oatman, of White Lake, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. She was 95 years old. She was born on April 2, 1921, in Stratford, a daughter of the late Howard and Anna (Gall) Wilcott. She married Chester Oatman on July 9, 1949, at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake. He survives.

Penny was a graduate of Marathon High School, Class of 1939. She moved to White Lake in 1941, Milwaukee in 1942, and in 1943 became employed at Marathon Electric in Wausau. She returned to White Lake in 1947 and was employed at Yawkey-Bissell. She resided in Racine from 1962 to 1968, returning to White Lake. In April of 2016, she moved to Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill with her husband.

Penny loved caring for her family, cooking, reading and enjoying the great outdoors. First and foremost was her love for the Lord and fellowship with her Christian family.

In addition to her beloved husband of 67 years, survivors include sons, Christopher Oatman of White Lake and Keith (Mary) Oatman of St. Augustine, FL; a daughter, Kim (Brian) Joseph of Antigo; six grandchildren, Scott (Jessie) Oatman of Eagle River, Sarah (Lenny) Orlowski of Greenfield, Stacy Oatman of Milwaukee, Anna Frommberger-Oatman of Germany, Adam (Jessie) Joseph of Pittsburgh, PA and Stephanie (Christopher) Gravitter of Antigo; a dear sister, Dolores Stanke of Antigo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother in infancy, Allen Charles Wilcott.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Four Corners Assembly of God, White Lake, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place in St. James Catholic Cemetery in White Lake. A visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

A special thank you to the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital Neuro ICU and staff for the outstanding care they extended to Penny. Also, our gratitude goes to Pine Crest Nursing Home staff for looking out for Penny so lovingly, with special thanks to Sue.
