The Relay for Life of Langlade County kicked off the circus-themed “Cirque Do Relay” season for 2017 this past weekend with an atmosphere at Rick’s 45 Roadhouse that would make P.T. Barnum jealous. Serving up samples of chili and desserts open to the public for amateur judging, including beaver chili and miniature red Solo cup dump cakes, the group was able to raise $1,265 in its first fundraiser outing of the year. Rick’s Roadhouse, playing host to the event, also contributed a $100 sponsorship in addition to apple pie shots for sale and the venue itself.
Bradley Royce took home the 1st Place spoon award for the chili cook-off, while Rachel Bolen won the dessert contest out of a field of multiple enticing sweets. Take a look at the festivities through the photo gallery below and stay tuned for upcoming news on the Relay for Life’s other fundraisers and events leading up to their main event (held on August 18th).
