Hunter Education and Bow Hunter Education Classes April 4th, 5th & 8th 4:30pm Antigo Bow Club, 1112 Mendlik Avenue, Antigo. These classes will provide young and new hunters an opportunity to become certified in hunter education and bow hunter education. All hunters born after 1973 are required to pass a hunter education class. Bow hunter education is not required to hunt in Wisconsin, but some states do require this for archery hunting in their states. The lead instructor will be Tim Otto of the Wisconsin DNR. Class times will be: April 4th 4:30-8pm; April 5th 5-8pm; April 8th 9am-3pm.

Child Development Day for the School District of Wabeno April 5th Wabeno Elementary School, 4346 Mill Lane, Wabeno. The school district of Wabeno will be conducting a developmental screening for children living in the district. This event is for children whose birthdays fall between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2014. Children will be screened through observation in a natural play setting. Play & Learn April 6th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness and milestone achievement. Quarterly Ages and Stages questionnaires are made available to parents and caregivers to assist families in helping their children to reach age based development milestones. Red Arrow DNR Certified ATV Safety Course April 8th-9th 10am-2pm Sat. & 12-4pm Sun. Townsend Town Hall, 16564 Elm St., Townsend. Anyone is welcome to attend the course with a recommended minimum age of 11 ½. Parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate. Fees for the course are $10 per student. It is important to note that students must attend both sessions. There is no actual ATV operation in the class. Annual Wittenberg Lions Club Scholarship Pancake Brunch April 9th 9am-1pm Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School Cafeteria, 400 W. Grand Ave., Wittenberg. The menu will include potato pancakes, wheat pancakes, Nueske sausage, pure maple syrup, coffee, milk, bars & cheese curds. $7 for adults in advance or $8 at the door, children 6-12 $4 and under 6 are free. All proceeds go the Lions scholarship fund for students in the Wittenberg-Birnamwood high school district.
