Debra Stainbrook, 64
Debra Stainbrook, of Antigo, died Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Friendly Village in Rhinelander. She was 64 years old. She was born on December 5, 1952 in Antigo, a daughter of Eugene and Lois (Neururer) Kakes. She married Frank Stainbrook on August 2, 1980 at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo. He survives.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School with class of 1971.
Deb was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the Christian Motorcyclist Association, and the Springbrook Homemakers club.
She attended the State College of Beauty and Culture in Wausau and worked as a beautician in Antigo for several years. She went on to work at Connors Cabinet Factory in Wausau before she and her mother operated K’s Hobby and Craft store in Antigo. Deb then served as manager of Tamarack Place Retirement Center in Menomonee Falls. For four years she worked at Mid-state Ice and Water out of Wausau. Her last employment was as co-owner of Best Friends Consignment and Craft store in Phillips.
Survivors including her husband are a sister, Darcy (David) Blakemore, Ogden, UT; a brother, Dan (Vickie) Kakes, Bryant; a sister in law, Jeanne Kakes, Neva; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David Kakes.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Family Cemetery, Mattoon.
Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with a time for sharing memories at 6 p.m. Tuesday’s visitation will be at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
