Dorothy “Doris” M. Arneson, 84
Dorothy Mae “Doris” Arneson, of Deerbrook, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. She was 84 years old. She was born on February 4, 1933 in Eau Claire, a daughter of the late Simon and Agatha (Smieja) Klimek. She married Vernon Arneson on June 27, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She was a women of integrity and highly committed to her marriage and family.
Doris was a graduate of Independence High School, Class of 1951.
She was a cashier at Pick n Save in Milwaukee retiring in 1986. Following retirement she moved to Deerbrook.
Doris was a member of St. Wencel Catholic Church, member of the church Rosary Society and volunteered at the nursing home.
She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, traveling and trips to the casino. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon of Deerbrook; two daughters, Cheryl (Art) Kunde of Conover and Linda (Jim) Holmberg of Hartland; two sons, Daniel Arneson of West Bend and James Arneson of Shawano; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew (Betty) Klimek of Hastings, Minn.; and friends of the family, Margaret Arneson, Michelle Belongie and Cheryl Arneson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Keith Arneson; two sisters, Rita and Rose; five brothers, Jerry, Cliff, George, Ralph and Joe.
A memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva with Rev. Judah Pigon, M.F. officiating. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of Mass.
