Mary Louise Woods, 89
Mary Louise Woods, of Appleton, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Bridges of Appleton under the care of hospice. She was 89 years old. She was born on July 27, 1927 in the town of Rolling, a daughter of the late Charles and Libbie Jo (Gillette) Maney. She married George Woods on August 17, 1946 in Elcho. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1986.
Mary graduated from Elcho High School in 1945.
Prior to marriage she picked potatoes for Zelinski Farm. Mary and her husband farmed in the town of Norwood before moving to Alabama in 1979. She returned to Wisconsin in 1987.
She enjoyed knitting, the companionship of her pets, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Survivors include three daughters, Gwendolyn Roley of Appleton, Della (Ian) Willetts of Malone and Libbie (Gary) Pabelick of Clintonville; a son, Steven (Anne) Woods of St. Cloud; three grandchildren, Cindy Roley, Tommy Woods and George Woods. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Earl “Skip” Woods; a grandson, Jimmy Woods; seven sisters, Cecelia Howe, Doris Woods, Jean McCary, Marjorie Kock, Eunice Kwick, Phoebe Debroux, Maude Sieber; and two brothers, Clyde Maney and Claude “Glenn” Maney.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 10 from 10 to 11 am at the Bradley Funeral Home followed by burial at the Elmwood Cemetery in Antigo.
