Updates on wind storm in Antigo area (including pictures)

As of 5:45 PM, Tuesday, March 7, there are a number of power outages and trees down in the Antigo area due to the wind storms that have been on and off all day long.

After taking a closer look on the scene, here are some reports:

  • A tree took out power lines on Deleglise St. in between 7th and 8th Avenues. A firefighter on scene said that a transformer was possibly blown. Emergency vehicles had the blocks around Peace Lutheran Elementary School blocked off to through traffic
  • A section of roofing came off of a house near the corner Lincoln St. and 8th Ave.
  • Reports say that the power is out in areas of the north side of Antigo, along with a tree down near 10th Ave and Aurora St. near City Park.
  • Power is out near Antigo High School, south of 9th Avenue
  • Roads are blocked near Clermont and Martin Streets due to possible lines down
