Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 4/17/17

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS

Monday, March 3rd

12:29 AM Officers stopped a man driving without headlights at a north side business. The man was issued a warning.

3:35 AM A woman came to the Safety Building to report that someone had used her debit card at an ATM and that $83 was missing from her account. Officers asked the woman to bring in bank statements, which as of the next day she had not provided.

4:35 PM A woman reported that a male subject had taken two of her debit cards without her permission and that a total of $120 was taken out. Officers were later supplied with receipts and bank statements.

Tuesday, March 4th

1:44 AM A male driver was cited for speeding near Neva Rd and Badger Ave.

12:31 PM A male driver struck another vehicle behind a 5th Ave business and left immediately. Officers later warned the man not to just walk away from accidents.

6:09 PM A woman reported that possibly a man she knew had stolen her medication. Officers filed the woman’s statement.

8:13 PM Police received a call from a man reporting that woman was driving around near his house in a blue minivan and may have open intoxicants in the vehicle. Police notified the man that they would watch for the vehicle.

Wednesday, March 5th

12:49 AM A female driver was cited for speeding near Neva Rd and Farwell Ave.

1:32 AM A female called reported that two dogs were loose near her yard. The woman says she let her dog out and the other two dogs came after her. The dogs later took off to the north and were located on Clermont St. The owner will be receiving a citation.

1:40 PM Officers received a call from a man reporting that he had just witnessed a silver Nissan speed at approximately 34 mph past West Elementary School, whip around the corner onto Elm St. and pull into a driveway. The male driver was wearing a black t-shirt and grey pants and appeared tall with facial hair. The suspect also pulled something down the front of his pants. While still on the phone, the subject came out of his house with box of ammunition and left towards 5th Ave. The driver was later stopped and cited for operating after revocation.

4:35 PM An accident was reported in front a Neva Rd. business. Car 1 had started to make a left-hand turn and hit the second car as they were heading south on Neva Rd.

5:19 PM A male driver was cited for operating without a license near 6th Ave and Edison St.

Thursday, March 6th

1:14 AM A female driver was cited for operating with a suspended license and expired registration near 5th Ave and Hudson St.

1:46 PM A male caller made a report that needles were found along the parking lot behind North Elementary School at the dead end of Badger Ave.

7:24 PM Officers responded to a male caller stating that his vehicle had been stolen. The vehicle was later found at a downtown tavern. The driver present had been given to permission to use the vehicle but was told to find a sober driver.

Friday, March 7th

3:12 PM A north side business detained two young adult males for shoplifting. The subjects were later cited for retail theft.

Saturday, March 8th

10:30 AM A woman reported that she had left her Cadillac SUV overnight behind a downtown tavern but when she went to pick it up the next morning someone had run into it. Officers took photos of the damage.

1:18 PM Officers received a report from a man that someone had gone through his vehicle on Edison St. and that a diamond ring and $50 cash were now missing. The man did not remember if he had locked the vehicle for sure or not. No suspects were found.

5:01 PM Officers received a call from a north side business that a female suspect who had stolen booze from the business before was currently in the liquor department. The suspect left behind a cart with five bottles of liquor in it. The suspect, along with another female subject with her, admitted to police that they had taken items in the past.

10:53 PM A man reported that while leaving a gas station in town as a clerk with the deposit money, he was followed by Dodge Dakota truck with a camper shell. The man reported that he thought it was a male customer that was angry with him when the clerk refused to serve him beer when he was already intoxicated. The suspect later admitted to following the clerk but said he did so only out of retaliation of the man following him previously.

Sunday, March 9th

12:57 AM A female driver was cited for failure to provide proof of insurance and a 10-day correction notice for registration near 3rd Ave and Arctic St.


LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS

Wednesday, March 5th

4:27 PM Officers responded to a female caller reporting that while traveling on Claire Rd. two children were throwing rocks at cars and hit hers. A chip in the woman’s car was reported and the children were warned not to throw rocks.

Thursday, March 6th

8:01 AM A female caller reported that vehicle was driving in the wrong lane near St. Rd. 64 and Cty. Rd. H. The driver was later contacted and reported that she was feeling ill. The driver was cited for operating left of center.

3:45 PM A female driver was cited for speeding near Hwy 45 and Mark Ln.

5:10 PM A male driver was cited for speeding near Hwy 47 and Cty. Rd. D.

8:21 PM Officers responded to a man reporting that someone had stolen his post pounder from his Stone Rd. residence. The pounder was valued at $20, and neither the caller nor his children had given anyone permission to use it.

Friday, March 7th

8:08 AM A female was cited for 3rd offense OWI and speeding near Cty. Rd. A and Rocky Rd.

Saturday, March 8th

8:23 PM A female driver was cited for operating while suspended and also given a verbal warning for a headlight out near Hwy 45 and Knight Rd.

8:59 PM A male driver was cited for operating while suspended on Hwy 55 just near Forest County.
