Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 4/24/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, April 10th
2:49PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a gas drive-off of $10. The vehicle left northbound on Superior Street. The vehicle was described as a silver Chevy two door car. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers spoke with the female owner of the vehicle. She told officers that she tried to use her child support card at the pump, which apparently did not work. The female subject went back to the business with the officers to work out the situation.
4:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was issued a 10 day correction for an expired registration.
4:35 PM While officers were at an area business on Superior Street, they were approached by a subject who told them that a male subject on probation just purchased some beer and left walking southbound on Hwy. 45. Officers arrested the male subject on a probation hold.
5:39 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report a fire in an apartment building in the 800 block of 5th Avenue. He told officers that people were inside and that officers should check it out. The male subject appeared to be “on something” and took off right away. Officers arrested a male subject on a Department of Corrections warrant.
Tuesday, April 11th
3:26 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was just involved in a four vehicle accident at Forrest Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 4 was stopped, waiting to make a left hand turn. Vehicle 1 was stopped in traffic waiting for Vehicle 4. Vehicle 2 was stopped in traffic waiting for Vehicle 1. Vehicle 3 struck Vehicle 2, pushing it into Vehicle 1.
5:13 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. Officers issued the female driver a citation for operating while suspended, 3rd offense. The passenger was placed on a probation hold for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Another passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony narcotics.
Wednesday, April 12th
6:10 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was cited for speed.
2:54 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had three retail thefts to report. They identified three individual female subjects. Officers were investigating.
4:07 PM Officers executed a search warrant at an address on Edison Street. One female subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of meth drug paraphernalia. One male subject was arrested of possession of marijuana, 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping. A second male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and felony bail jumping. One juvenile male subject was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
7:09 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report a driving complaint. He told officers that someone tried to run him, his wife and his mother-in-law over while they were out walking. The driver was going too fast around a corner. Officers spoke with the male driver and advised him of the complaint.
10:31 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a male subject, covered in blood had come to her residence on Weed Street and asked her to call police. The male subject had then gone across the street to his residence and was sitting on the porch. The male subject was bleeding from the top and side of his head and he had blood on his hands. He was intoxicated. He told officers that someone walked into his house and hit him. He was not able to give officers a good description of the subject. Officers requested an ambulance for the male subject. He was transported to the hospital.
11:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that three vehicles were broken into on 10th Avenue. The glove boxes had been opened and papers were thrown around. The only item taken was a flashlight. Officers did not find any other vehicles broken into in the area.
Thursday, April 13th
5:40 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 1st Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was issued a citation for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
10:06 AM Officers responded to a traffic complaint of a vehicle weaving and crossing the center line and the fog line. The vehicle was described as a black 4 door Chevy. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was written for a re-exam.
10:29 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Lincoln Street reporting that her vehicle had been entered during the night. It occurred sometime after 7:00 PM the night before. The vehicle had been unlocked. The missing items included a bottle of tanning lotion and four packs of cigarettes.
10:45 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Dorr Street reporting that a male subject had entered their unlocked porch during the night and stayed there for approximately four hours. The homeowners had a camera system and had photos of the male subject. During the male subject’s time on the porch, items were thrown around, items on the walls were moved, furniture was moved and a lamp was turned on and off. The male subject left with some cigarettes and a lighter. Officers were investigating.
11:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on 3rd Avenue reporting that he thought a UPS package was stolen from his door step. He told officers that he had been out of town all day and returned at approximately 11:15 PM. He had been expecting a package. He checked the UPS tracking system, which said that his package had been delivered that day at 6:49 PM and it had been left on the front porch. The male subject told officers that the item in the package was worth $500. Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate the package.
Friday, April 14th
1:33 AM Officers were out with a male subject behind an area business on Edison Street. A fight had occurred. Officers arrested the male subject for obstructing and a Department of Corrections probation hold. He was transported to Corrections.
2:38 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
5:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day written warning for non-registration.
4:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 2nd Avenue reporting that a female subject on a mini bike just ran into his house. The caller thought that she may be intoxicated. He told officers that they had been riding up and down the street for a couple of days. Officers issued the female subject a citation for operating a mini bike on the road.
7:44 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and North Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to show proof of insurance and was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
8:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:27 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlamp.
10:04 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance and was given a 10 day written warning for non-registration.
Saturday, April 15th
12:05 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
2:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related.
5:52 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Century Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
9:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued citations for speed and operating without a valid driver’s license.
Sunday, April 16th
12:02 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Arctic Street and Badger Avenue. The driver was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed.
12:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Deleglise Street and 7th Avenue. The drive was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
1:44 AM Officers were out with two male subjects at Fulton Street and 1st Avenue. One juvenile male subject was cited for possession of tobacco products.
1:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 4th Avenue reporting that her tire was slashed overnight. Sometime during the night, the front driver’s side tire had been punctured. It appeared to be from a screwdriver. There were no known suspects.
3:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while registration was suspended.
Monday, April 17th
5:54 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Century Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, April 12th
5:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a two vehicle accident at. E. 10th Avenue and Cty. Rd. AA, involving a transit bus and a truck with a trailer attached. There was no road blockage. The female driver of the bus was cited for failure to yield the right of way. The truck and small utility trailer were towed from the scene.
5:41 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Cty. Rd. U reporting that when he got home, a blue Chevy Impala was in his driveway and a male and female subject were trying to break into his house. They were now at an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho. The caller neglected to tell officers that he had followed the subjects to that location. The male and female subjects denied being at the caller’s home. The female subject claimed that the caller hit their vehicle at the business in Elcho. Officers took photos of the vehicles and of the male caller’s front door which did have fresh tool marks near the door handle.
10:41 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Cty. Rd. P reporting that a car was in the field at Cty. Rd. P and Harmon Road. The vehicle was described as a dark colored car, 50 feet from the road, with the lights on, the door open, the engine running and the windshield wipers going. No one was around the vehicle when officers arrived, but they were able to locate a purse and phone inside the vehicle. Officers were able to find the female, whose identification was in the purse, at a residence on Fraley Road. She told officers that she had dropped off her brother at a residence on Cty. Rd. P and went inside for 30 to 45 minutes. When she came out, the vehicle was gone so she walked home. Officers asked why she didn’t call the sheriff’s office. She said that her phone was dead. But when officers checked the phone, it worked. Officers were following up.
Saturday, April 15th
7:33 AM Officers were notified by the Menominee County Sheriff’s office of a stabbing that had taken place overnight at an area business on Hwy. 55 in the town of Wolf River during an altercation. Officers talked with the female victim who gave officers the names of a possible male and female suspect. She gave officers a description of the vehicle and told them the female suspect may still be in possession of the knife and the male suspect may have a handgun. The Forest County Sheriff’s office was later able to track down the vehicle at a residence on Maple Sugar Lane in Wabeno. No one answered the door. The vehicle was towed to Langlade County. Officers were still investigating and no one was currently in custody.
10:11 AM Officers received a call from a female on Hwy. 55 reporting that her Contour brand paddle boat was taken from the shore, sometime after November. It had an aqua blue bottom and a crème top. It was valued at $125. Officers were advised.
11:13 AM A male subject from White Lake came to the Safety Building to report possible computer fraud. He told officers that someone had accessed all of his social media accounts, changing and deleting items. This had been happening since December of 2016. Recently, things had escalated and other personal accounts had been accessed including his bank account. Funds had been transferred. The male subject had already contacted his banking institution. He gave officers the name of a possible female suspect. They were investigating.
Sunday, April 16th
5:40 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that while he and another male subject were at the gun range, his uncle’s heavy duty canvas, black, left-handed holster for a 4 inch 9mm gun was stolen. The male gave officers the name of a possible male suspect. Officers were investigating.
