Barbara “Bobbie” Meeks, 73
Barbara “Bobbie” Meeks, of Antigo, died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. She was 73 years old. She was born on June 26, 1943 in Antigo, a daughter of Robert and Carmen (Roseberry) Boyd. She married Larry Meeks on February 17, 1962 in Antigo. He survives.
After marriage the couple moved to Waukegan, Illinois. Bobbie worked at Charmglow in Kenosha and American Heritage in Waukegan. She returned to Antigo in 1982. For five years she worked alongside her husband for Karcz Home Sales.
Cooking was her specialty and her family will remember her as the “worlds best cook”. She lived to care for her family and was a master at Trivial Pursuit. She enjoyed fishing and following the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.
Survivors including her husband are three daughters, Brenda Meeks and Scott, Milwaukee, Linda (Andrew) Converse, Aniwa, Tammy (William) Rector, Antigo; seven grandchildren Christopher (Nicole) Lanier, Tammy Jo and AJ Converse, Barbara Jean (JC) Devine, Nikki, Brittany, Jo Rector; three great-grandchildren Elise, Layla and Conor; two sisters, Sue (Sam) Cangemi, Waukegan, Illinois, Linda (Peter) Bowler, Kenosha; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and seven brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Monday April 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
