Election Day is upon Antigo, last chances to review mayor, school board candidates

Today, April 4, marks the Wisconsin Statewide Elections, including the races for City of Antigo Mayor, between incumbent Bill Brandt and challenger Doug Nonnenmacher, and also the race for the openings on the Unified School District of Antigo’s Board of Education between Noel Deep, John Schroeder, Danny Pyeat, Roy Dieck and Patrick McKenna. A referendum is also on the ballot to potentially reduce the school board size itself, from nine members to five.

In order to better understand the school board candidates and decisions before voting today, the link to last week’s school board candidate forum at the Volm Theater is available below by clicking on the Antigo Pride icon.

Coverage of the forum was made possible by AHS Media Productions.

In addition to the forum, there have been numerous letters to the editor recently regarding the school board situation and its impact upon the community. A review of those letters can be found by clicking here.

For additional voting information, including ID procedures and voting ward maps, please visit the Election Information at the City of Antigo website. The Antigo Times will provide updated polling information later today as results come in. Check our website, Twitter, or Facebook page for updates.
