For the Antigo Times

The Antigo Lady Robins soccer team took on Medford at home on Tuesday evening, ending as a 6-0 loss. Along with spotty showers and wind, the team came into the match with multiple injuries and some sickness.

The Robins came out strong, holding the Raiders until the 17-minute mark. Illness had taken out the only substitution for the Robins, which led to the decision to end play at 60 minutes. Going into half down 4-0, the Lady Robins and stuck together like the team despite the setbacks.

Medford went on to score two additional goals at the 47- and 54-minute marks.

“Goalie Emma Brown did a great job in the net, despite being the most physical game she has encountered thus far as she recorded 16 saves on the night,” Coach Sara Schroeper said. “Senior captain Sethany Sass, who also had a shot on goal, along with defenders Kailee Pomasl and Jena Nonnemacher, did a good job sticking with Medford’s attack. Junior Payton Bunnel took Control of the center field. ALL of the girls did a fantastic job with the new formation and no substitutions due To the circumstances, and we couldn’t be more proud of them.”

The Lady Robins take on Northland Pines this Thursday, beginning at 5 PM.
