Stanley Benes, age 93, of Bryant died Sunday at Care Partners under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.
Stanley was born November 5, 1923 to Bohemian immigrants, Cyril and Karoline (Kadlec) Benes in Neva.
On November 5, 1946 he was united in marriage to Lucille Holeton.
Stanley was a graduate of Antigo High School.
He retired from Merit Gear as plant manager.
Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing, time at Pelican Lake, and playing cards.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Lucille, include 2 daughters, Trudy (Kevin) Bula of Antigo, Julie (Bill) Brandt of Antigo, 2 sons, Gary (Pat) Benes of Lewistown, MT, Marty (Peggy) Benes of Antigo, a sister, Helen Zellmer of Rhinelander, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church. Reverend Karen Tews will officiate.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00PM until 8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:30 until the service at the church.
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
A memorial will be established in Stanley’s name.
